Alexandra Burke's album - 2 disc special edition

Ah yes, I remember him - won't be buying the album though

He's actually gone platinum on album sales (to match his hair, lol) so I'm suspecting he won't be losing too much sleep over that
Not my normal genre of music that I listen to but I really like it (it's the voice that makes it, of course). I predict he will be the real long-term success story. Call me Carmine....

Well he should be worried
:rotfl: With the amount of music I buy, my OH thinks I single handedly support the entire music industry.:rotfl:
All this talk of Rhydian and I now have "you raise me up" rattling around inside my head
I do agree that he does have a cracking voice, I just can't imagine me listening to the cd. I'm glad he's found a market and is doing well - he seemed like a nice lad. "I married beneath me, all women do." - Nancy Astor 1879-1964

ETA - having said that I couldn't name any of the finalists/runners up from last year and whether or not they have a career now so maybe I'm too cynical for my own good (Same Difference rings a bell though - were they from last year?)
Leon Jackson, Rhydian and Same Difference. I liked Leon Jackson, just had to google a bit - he is doing ok so far!
In December 2007, Leon Jackson performed with Canadian performer Michael Buble at Wembley Arena, singing Buble's "Home". Jackson said this was the highlight of his life as Buble is his idol. This invitation was repeated in July 2008 when Michael Buble invited Leon on stage at the Glasgow SECC to sing Lost. The follow up single to When You Believe was "Don't Call This Love". He performed his new single on 11 October 2008 on an X Factor Live Show. It charted at number 3 in the UK singles chart. Jackson revealed on his official website that the album would be called Right Now and was released on October 20, 2008. The album debuted at number 4 on the UK Album Chart.
Will Young, Girls Aloud and Leona are the only acts that have had any longevity since they won.......well yes, early days for Leona, but its looking good. And we shall see if Leon Jackson, Rhydian, Alexandra Burke, JLS are still around next year....A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
I hope JLS do well. I thought they were really good on the X-Factor.
For God knew in His great wisdom
That he couldn't be everywhere,

michael buble probably thinks because he won x factor that leon jackson is a big star and warrants being brought into his UK gigs to wake up the crowd between his dull songs. He was mis-informed.0

Mr Jackson is about to get dropped, believe me. Dire sales of both single and album.Call me Carmine....

Just googled it. He played Che in the touring version of Evita so did OK for himself!! Not sure what he is doing now though
His name was Seamus I think - and as you say he was in Evita.
I saw it at Woking - I have to admit he was very good.
I expect he will continue in musical theatre.A lot of the Josephs have done well - Daniel is the lead in Avenue Q in the west end and he went out mid competition.0 -
That would be a real shame. I bought the album after his performance on Children In Need and it's actually very good.
I'm going off X Factor but I did watch the final and it was entertaining. Burke was different league. I'm assuming the mini album is being released to keep the winner in the public eye until the first live show again next year when they have something to promote. Maybe good thinking..1carminestocky wrote: »Mr Jackson is about to get dropped, believe me. Dire sales of both single and album.MFiT-T6: #38

Well there is an internet campaing for Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah to become Xmas No 1, and I hope it does. That song should never have been used for the winner of X Factor to cover.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0
