it's still going to be at least a fortnight before it settles - if it settles at all.
the problem is really a double-edged sword - if you rate between 4-7 your accuracy will go up and your stars will go down. if you rate 0-3 and 8-10 your stars will likely go up but your accuracy will go down.
and since stars still do seem to be linked to accuracy to a degree, it's actually near impossible to find the middle ground.0 -
Hi everyone as I can see we are all struggling with STP big time I'm wondering if it is to do with their recent good press but god knows well I have slaved away for ages today went from 3 stars and ended on earning vouchers:eek: think this new system is really baaaaaaaaaadddddddddddddd it will put people off so hopefully if we stick at it then it may get better. Heres hoping anyhow:think:Became debt free December 2022

I think these ideas are helpful under the new system:
1. Use the full range of marks 1-9 (and I guess 10, though I don't think that's going to happen often).
2. Your accuracy and star count is only calculated on the past 30 tracks. Go into your scout history and look at what you've been rating. Got no twos and lots of eights? Adjust your scoring so you're more evenly spread.
3. Don't think that this means you can't score lots of mid-range songs. You can. The software knows that many songs will fall in this range. Therefore probably 80% of your songs in the past 30 tracks can be rated 4-7. Just make sure there are some that fall outside that range too.
4. remember you're being paid to SCOUT, not to praise only the music you like. You have to try to anticipate what's going to appeal commercially; that's what the site is all about. So if you really liked a song but you know you have weird taste in music, there's not much point in marking it really high. Not only will your accuracy suffer, as other scouts are unlikely to agree, but the band is unlikely to make it commercially, adn that's what your're trying to pick out.0 -
Hmmm, listening to a piece of music atm 6:58 long - there was no noise for the first minute, currently at 5 mins and it has a little bit of music, very quiet, and not a great deal of depth, am going to have to rate at either a 0 or 1 and I dread to think how my accuracy will fare

I am listening to the whole song in case it suddenly offers something.
LOL, nope it offered nothing.
