Haha oh dear... I've just rated my first ever 2/10 ( a rap track I'd usually give 5/10 for but thought I'd experiment) and it's knocked my accuracy down by almost 1%, but put me back up to 2 stars and money again?!
Seems a bit backwards to me....
~~UPDATE~~
I've managed 3 songs in a row still at 2 stars - but my accuracy has dropped dramatically from 90.98% (I think) to 86.35% - not good :rolleyes:LBM - 1/12/08 - Debt £13250

I'm at 2 stars now, with an accuracy of 88.27% thats a loss of 6% by reviewing 7 tracks.
I would assume the acucracy percentage isnt quite as important as it was for star increases now, I wonder if and when I can get my third star back.0 -
for information - the update from slice the pie themselvesToday we registered our 2 millionth review! To celebrate, over the past few weeks we have been crunching loads of data to calculate the optimum blend of factors that influence your Scout ratings. As a result, we have today further improved the way that our algorithms calculate these.
As before, your Scout rating is calculated on a 30 review rolling basis, however we have now made three key changes: First, the more reviews a track has had before your review, the more dependable the average rating will be and the more your rating of that track will impact your accuracy, so if you are the first to review a track this will no longer affect your accuracy, if you are reviewer number 30 on a track then if you rate well your accuracy may increase by 1-2% ; second, we have now switched on the algorithm that measures how widely you are rating tracks, for example, if you always rate tracks between 4 and 7 you will never achieve higher than a 2 star rating and only if you rate across 1-9 can you reach 4 or 5 star status; third, we have significantly reduced the number of reviews you need to complete before being eligible for additional stars, thus enabling the best Scouts rapid progression through the rankings.
We are confident that these adjustments will ensure a highly accurate indication of a Scout’s ability and will reward all Scouts appropriately for their hard work.
It may be that a few Scouts will see their ratings drop. We can however assure you that an hour or so’s considered scouting should return you to your former rating.
Thanks

so, in the short term, everyone is going to suffer and suffer badly. in the long term, you're apparently supposed to go back up.0 -
It seems like it's all over the place, and that sometimes you can get back to two, three even four stars using their ne w'spread' rating system. I'm too hacked off to try at the moment, but as many have opointed out on the forum, the majority of the tracks ARE in teh 4-6 range, as they're average. Only once or twice do you get outstanding or truly terrible tracks, so I worry that honest scoring is going to get us stuffed again. Have a read on the STP forums to see what's going on.0

I'm now back up to three stars, but have sacrificed my accuracy completely - now at 85.84.
But accuracy matters less now that it's not so related to stars.
What occurs to me now is this: if your accuracy and star raitngs are only determined ove rthe past 30 tracks, this means that you need to keep a spread of 1-10 in your 30 tracks. But what if those 30 tracks genuinely are just average? We're going to end up doing fake marks again to keep our ratings, just like on the last system. THey've replaced one flawed system with another.0 -
Agree completely. x0
