Thanks for all your thoughts, sympathy and empathy from those who have been there, you really don't know how much it means. We've just been for a wander but had to come back as she couldn't manage it poor girl. I am hopeful, but not looking through rose tinted glasses, her vets are very honest and not greedy, she knows I will never ever be able to make the decision without her opinion. Taking the responsibility away I suppose. They are a welfare organisation aswell as the services they do, I have a lot of respect for them.

DPs said he can't take her, I know he wouldn't get to the vets and just bring her home. He had her as a pup when he lived at home with his Dad so even more of an emotional tie there. He's upset because she's lost 'the sparkle in her eyes', I know he's right. I have to look at it as every second she's had is more than she would have at the kennels, she was on her last day. It's just really really hard.

Feeling rather selfish at present, I know there are many with more troubles than mine but seriously if I didn't have you all I would crack up.

Sorry don't know if I said or not Carol22 your cards have arrived, holly have you managed to post yours today?
One day I might be more organised...........

Does anyone tip their binmen and postmen?

Never tip the binmen because I never see them! But I've tipped our postie for the last four years because he's absolutely brilliant! I usually give him a fiver.

Just having a cuppa to recover from going out shopping. Have bought some more presents and stocking fillers and a Christmas tree!

The Christmas tree was a real bargain. It's a Douglas fir (needles stay on longer apparently) and is a bit straggly and thin - but that's what I need - thin because of where I'm going to put it wouldn't take fat! It was the last one on the stand at Sainsbury's homebase. As the man bagged it up for me, I commented on it being all on its ownsome and not the most beautiful tree in the forest but how I'd give it a good home and some love - once it's all dressed up it'll be fine. He agreed and promptly decided to give me a big discount - so instead of paying £34.99 for it, I got it for £14.99 - I think that's a serious bargain!

But, tea is finished - need to go and empty the car of all the shopping...
