  • pink F hope the Ab's work quickly - at least you know now what has been causing you the problems - take it easy - that probably fell on deaf ears!!!

    I don't know what you mean! :p

Seriously, I've felt even worse this week than when I had pleurisy which seems slightly odd, but maybe that's because of the fever. I am most definitely on a go slow, but DS and I are going to make a move and do some cleaning after lunch. He and GF are going Ice Skating and for a meal in Cardiff tomorrow evening with their D of E group, so GF is sleeping at ours tomorrow night (they won't be home till about 11, and her folks won't wait up, whereas here someone is always around!) Anyway, that gives me leverage for a bit of help.

Dinner is planned as I bought some stewing steak at the butcher's when I went for my prescription. Unfortunately, I'm too late for the slow cooker, but will use my pressure cooker tonight instead.

It's also just up the road from DH's home town, Lampeter. We actually have a watercolour of Bethlehem on our bedroom wall. When they came to do the homecheck for Star, I took it down to show them. I've nver actually been there myself, but having seen the news item, I'm thinking of making a special trip next year with my Christmas cards!

I now have terrible hiccups, which are helping my sore throat not at all!

ETA - I have received my glass bird today! I am so pleased as it is identical to the one we had on the tree when we were children!

    LMAO Valli:)

My sister lives in England and she says that the binmen over here are completly different to the binmen there!! She says she misses home because of the quirky things that are done over here....that wouldnt be done over there.

She always tells the story about my dad getting a joiner in to hang all the doors in the house and putting wooden floors in...He was at the house on the monday and worked really hard and hung all the doors on the tuesday it was raining and dad was leaving my nephew to school, not expecting the joiner until 10.30. So my dad went to my aunties house for a cuppa, and arrived up home at around 10, to move furniture etc.....to find the joiner in the house all the stuff moved, including the settee, the carpet lifted and the floor half laid....he said to my dad..."I pulled up just as you had left and I was sitting waiting on you....I know i was early"...but the other job he had on couldnt be done as it was raining so he just walked in and made a start on it....He was brilliant he had all the work done in 2 days and only charged £200!!
That was for laying 2 floors and hanging 9 doors and replacing skirting and architrive!!

Hiya SS when my washer broke earlier this year I went straight out and bought a new one - on the credit card:rolleyes: - so I bet it has cost me way more...
One day I will have an emergency fund...
Have texted ex OH re seeing kids over xmas. He has them Saturdays usually, because DD told my mum she was going to her dad's on boxing day - well, not according to him. Mind you I got them back to him late last year as we had been at my sisters and I was in no hurry to come home and be alone... so we willsee. He has always been in the habit of arranging things directly with them instead of asking me. He could have them xmas day if he wanted but our family celebrations are a highlight of their year and they will not go to the 'other side' IYSWIM. DS told me he would still love it even without gifts as he loves spending time together - we play games and have fun and then do it all again on New Year's day! That's we we go to my mum's. I usually 'do' easter (cos we do it then, too!)
So I need to talk to DD about this...

Glasses washed and back in cabinet - lots of room in there now:D. So that's a cupboard AND a fling! Two birds!
Right now I need to get my backside into gear and
    • finish bathroom
    • clean kitchen
    • mop bathroom after I mop kitchen
    • write christmas cards, stamp and post them
    • wash out black bin (with floor mopping water)
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY
