My turkey and beef will be cooked today, gammon was in the sc yesterday, they'll all be sliced with my food slicer thingy into nice neat slices, meat will be portioned up and will be putting some in the freezer for new years eve/day. All the veg will be peeled and prepped today but I won't cook any of it aside from the cauli-cheese, which will then get baked tomorrow. Stuffing balls and pigs in blankets will get prepped today to so they can just be popped in the oven tomorrow.

Dinner service, serving bowls and glasses will all be washed and polished and table will be laid before we go to bed.

Makes for a much easier day tomorrow if all I've got to do is shove things in the oven at the right time.

I will probably peel the sprouts and potatoes today, which should take all of about 10 minutes being as these only two of us.

They will sit in water in the saucepan over night.
  • I made my bread sauce and cranberry confit on Thursday night. Have defrosted the cofit this AM for the turkey wellington.

Today I have crisped my bacon and made my mushroom thing for the Wellington.

The turkey part is in the oven now. Sadly I went mad ordering nline while drinking wine... I wasn't in when the delivery arrived... hence today when I check my turkey it isn't the breast I was hoping for, it was breast portions! I have had to roll them out thinly and have made a monstrosity using BBQ skeweres to hold it in a vaguely Wellington shape as it cooks!

Starter is pate, in the fridge, desert alreay done.

If you are al par-boiling today, how are you storing them??

  • Absolutely nothing! I'm not doing a turkey though so this makes a difference as usually I'd be putting the turkey to brine etc.

I will be doing traditional veg and stuffing (due to popular demand) tomorrow.

Mercifully I am off to family this year however in the past I have had almost everything ready to just cook. All the veg is prepped and ready to heat and I have a timed list of when to put things on so I don't have to think or stress :D

Correct for the potatoes , wrong for the sprouts . Just prepare and stick in a plastic bag.

For us it's just going to be a normal vegetarian Sunday dinner but with Christmas crackers and paper hats, and as I don't do any preparation the day before for a normal Sunday dinner I'm not doing any preparation today.
  • Turkey wellingotn all done and in fridge! First time I've done one and it was pretty easy even with my breast portion disaster!

If I feel like it I may peel pots and store! Husband usually does this and I'm about to clock on for work 1-5!
