Is Tiscali any good?

Thanks for the replies which are not really conclusive.
I can get cable where I live and Virgin offer a Broadband and phone package which is not as cheap as Tiscali but cheaper than I am paying now.
Same question.
Has anyone had good or bad experiences with Virgin?

My mate is still trying to get HD from his V+ box, the installer wouldn't provide him with an HDMI cable, told him if he wanted one he'd have to buy one separately.

I've been with them for two years and not had any problems at all and I'm on on the computer almost constantly but I don't download music or films much.
I have their Max unlimited plus talk II and that costs me about £ 32 a month all in but I can not get the free line rental, that costs me £7.

Applied for Tiscali Broadband & phone, gave them the MAC, they emailed me on 30 October to say it would take around 10 days to connect AND I'm still waiting!! (they have been given a second MAC as the other one expired)

I'm going to look elsewhere - I need a reliable service.

I had five happy years on Tiscali until 15 days ago they upgraded me to Broadband Max and I haven't had a service since.

Support is useless and they blame everything and everybody but themselves.

Last night I got a call from them to say that BT had finished their maintenance work in m y area and I was now working. I just fell about laughing.

I've given up and have got my Mac code. Heading for Plus net I think.

I remember when Talk Talk first offered a good package the service was appalling.
I don't want to get involved with any problems.

Go to your local narrowboat supplies shop, buy a bargepole, then don't go anywhere near Tiscali with it!

They messed us around 3 times with it and we didnt get online for 8 weeks after paying and after they stated.
The router was late
they lost us off their system 3 times (and we only found out by calling them and then them realising)
cost us loads to call them (from mobiles as we hadn't got the landline yet..)
They only gave us £30 compensation and everything they said to us is completer BS eg - "I'll call you every 24 hours to confirm the status of your account" - didnt get a single phone call.
