If the key is damaged a polite letter to their customer relations dept would more than likely get you a new X key, it would where I have worked anyway.

As for the gift cards I bought some money/giftcard wallets for about 20p each so they are available and not too expensive if M & S can't help.

And the family well what can I say, give yourself a day off, after all you need to go shopping , quick trip to M & S then a few hours of doing something nice for you.

    Big hugs anyway x

Go back to M&S tomorrow and (try to) explain your predicament calmly. I'm sure they'll help. Then come back on here and tell us how you got on! And make sure you're the only one drinking in your household from now on, OH and DD sound like a liability.

I have a very comfy sofa, if you'd like somewhere to sleep for a few days. I also have 2 large tins of Roses and some Bacardi :D And a laptop with an X key - although the delete key is missing

Aw, bless you Tru. :D All the creature comforts a body could need. :D

Btw......I only wanted to hunt down posts with angry smilies so I could shout at the posters using them. I thought it would be cathartic. :rotfl:

Thanks very much to all of you for your kind words and helpful sugestions....normal service is resumed today, I am back in 'coping mode' :D I am due to go off out this morning to change something my daughter needs for her school party tomorrow so I thought I'd pop into M&S whilst I was there.

However.......my OH and my son cant be in the same room/house/planet as each other at the moment and I'm wary of leaving them together today which means I would have to take him with me...but I dont like him much myself right now so that's not a good idea either. Oh the joys of family life. :D Let you know how it all ends up later.
