I'm flipping angry and do you think they'll give me new ones?

  • I'm sure those kind men at a local "large" computer company (pc world anyone) would be willing to help put the key back on for a nice smile.

I'd hot foot it to M&S, ours are very accommodating. I'm sure they'll be able to re issue your vouchers.

Can't help with the hubbie. I threw mine out a long while ago... for pretty much the same sort of thing. His temper was awful and he was no help with "our" baby. Now he's moaning that once a week isn't enough to see her, but that's a whole different story!
    Good luck! xxxx

As for the key, I've tried getting it back on but either there is a knack to it that I just haven't got, or it's just not refixable. As you can see, the little rubber stopper thing that sits under the key, is still able to be pressed.

    would one of these help?

sounds like a day for a hot chocolate laced with baileys, to be slurped in a hot bath with a good book! have a hug from me too!!

How old is the daughter who spills juice? too old for a cup with a sports cap? it would limit spillage. I've got a very clumsy 12 year old, he gets it from me though so I can't get too angry with him lol!

  • i work for a high st company that uses electronic gift cards and our tills are programmed not to accept gift cards as payment for the purchase of gift cards as an anti fraud measure. I'm afraid to say that i imagine this proceedure would be common place, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

    hugs to you alias

Sorry  - but then I did say correct me if I'm wrong... :rotfl:

I just thought of it because one day when I was VERY bored at work, I was reading the Sainsburys website (note, VERY bored) where there was a FAQ page about their gift cards. One of the questions was "Can I use my gift card to purchase a gift card?" to which, I will admit it (sorry Alias), at the time I thought "What idiot would want to buy a gift card with a gift card" - but the long and short is that the answer was yes. So it could be worth asking, you never know.
There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.

Noone can have everything they want and the sooner you learn that the better.

MSE Aim: To have more "thanks" than "posts"! :T
  • No advice here (not wearing my sensible hat) but I can only suggest that youy haven't ingested enough chocolate / alcohol yet.

For what its worth, I will definitely talk to you aliasojo (inasmuch as I talk to anybody - I will definitelr read your posts).

On a lighter note, with all the old names, reading this thread is like stepping into a timewarp. We just need Queenie, Math and Cathy. :p

hence why i said nothing ventured, nothing gained.

most companies allow their staff to use staff discount against the purchase of EGCs. by allowing them to use EGCs as payment for further EGCs, staff can get more than the % discount allowed. thats why a lot of tills also won't let you redeem EGCs in a transaction if you are using staff discount.

they have no appreciation for MSE ingenuity, i tell thee!

hope the wine helped alias. killed anyone yet? :D
