Is the wireless enabled on your router?
Can you see your wireless network on the laptop when you search for available networks?
    Have you set-up wireless encryption?
    More info needed.

Are you sure that it's actually your wireless network? You should change the network name (SSID) to something unique. You need to read the user manual for your particular router as they differ slightly and you will need to secure your wireless by setting up encryption. What happens when you try to connect?
