    Morning :santa2:

Its not quite so cold today, not raining either, that makes a change.

BIL has just gone out, he'll be back around 1.30 in time for Lunch at 2.00,
He took SIL out Friday night to the cinema, then for a curry so they could talk, did'nt work though.
He's moving out tomorrow and going to stay with his mum for a bit, we're looking forward to having the house to ourselves for a few days so we can blitz the bedroom he has been using, how can anyone make so much mess in just 2 weeks  Ah well he had to go somewhere and I did'nt mind for a couple of weeks.

We have Pork for Dinner today as well, popular choice by the look of it :D with loads of veg, roast pots, yorkshire puds, roast parsnips and stuffing, rice pudding after.

How are the LO's today Smoky?
Kathy - Yes Strictly was really good last night, and what a surprise when they announced that the 3 couples would all be dancing next week. I really hope either Tom or Rachel wins.
Dont you think though, that some of the dances look more like acrobatics?than dances.

Better go get the spuds peeled and veg prepared while I have a bit of peace and quiet.
hope all the poorly's are feeling a bit better today (((hugs)))

As others have said have a proper birthday - just the two of you. Chalk this up to experience. At least with OS you are in charge and know what your oven can do!

Do you really think that J Collins et al actually use the stuff they advertise?
  • Don't feel bad. We are learning from the moment we are born, it doesn't stop. As others have said laugh about it. I am famous in our circle for always over catering and have had to bin good food in the past, but so what. I learn a little more each time of the quantities needed and the best/worst buys. Chalk it up to experience and move on, you are definately not a failure. You could have gone out and spent twice that amount and not had a good meal.
Many happy returns for the rest of the year.

My only OS stuff today was to make Nigella's Christmas Puddini Bonbons for presents. and, cos I absolutely hate Christmas pudding/cake I won't eat them all up as testers!!

A bit fiddly to make but really rewarding seeing them take shape - even cutting up the glace cherries wasn't too boring.

Oh, home made soup and then curry from the freezer for food today too.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. Much apprecaited :A

Exlibris - good point .... I very much doubt that Joan Collins has ever had to resport to buying a mini beef wellington from M&S.

As you say ... I will learn from this.

As to a night out for the two of us .... think we will just settle for a nice night in ;););););) Cheaper still :rotfl:
Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend

xlibris I used to work for M&S and I know they try to use people in their ads who actually buy their stuff. Shirley Bassey and Joan Collins are long term well known M & S shoppers.

Regarding Johnny Depp, yea I wouldn't kick him out of bed but you can't beat the smile and the voice of gorgeous George Clooney :T The new coffee advert with him in it is a very welcome additon to all the other rubbish adverts that you have to sit through while waiting for your programme to come back on.
    Christmassy hugs to all

I used to love the booze ads with George in. I love anyone who can send themselves up..

    Afternoon all!

Sorry but I've done nothing os, other than take the bread out of the bm and make tea and toast! In fact I'm still laying in bed, and it's wonderful lol!

Plans for today are to get up at some point in the near future, put on bm and yoghurt and wash and iron uniforms for next week. Housework can wait until tomorrow. Probably best find something for dinner, but as I've eaten for England for the past few days my enthusiasm is somewhat lacking! Think I might do a shepherds pie for the kids, easy and quick, and I can pretend I'm teaching them whilst making them do it for me!

Oh, I meant to say yesterday, I was in a local pound shop, not Poundland, and found a box with assorted silicone cake cases, so I bought a pack of 4 square ones, 4 heart shaped ones, and an assorted pack of petite four sized ones in diff shapes. dd2 made choc brownies in them whilst I was out last night and they look lovely! Anyway if anyone is after silicone cases the pound shops are worth a look, they are really handy for the remoska.

Might drum up the enthusiasm to dig out some rope from the garage and pull the excess ivy off the fence to make some swags for the stairs, but then again that might have to wait till next week! Will see if the kids want to help do it.

Hope you all have a good day and hugs to all in need xx

Hubby's been hogging the pc but the snooker has started now, so I can finally get on here.
Pork chops for tea for hubby, I'm off my food so not sure what I'll have.
I'm going to finish writing all the cards this afternoon & then that only leaves the pressies to wrap.
I hope every one has a good day.
    Hugs Hester
