How can you get stale smoke smells out of a silver cross coachbuilt pram?
Have tried washing inside and out with antibacterial washing up liquid, febreeze, and lots of airing outside.
Only recently aquired the pram, have thrown the old stinky mattress out. The pram smells better than it did but you can still smell the stale smoke and couldn't face putting a baby in there.
Is there anything else that might help?
Thanks

Trusty bicarb? Strong solution in hand hot water.0

I used barkeepers friend to clean a chest of drawers covered in nicotine stains - yuck that was a grim job! It might help with the smell as nicotine is really sticky. You will have to really scrub it well and very hard a number of times. The drawers I cleaned had to be done three times! Good luck

After milk got spilt in the car - and no amount of washing could shift the smell - someone suggested Oust spray. Worked brilliantly.0

I saw it in Asda recently.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -

the big supermarkets have it. It is in a small plastic bottle and is a powder.

Eeek! It's a horrible thought that some poor baby had to live with the smell of cigarettes... although I guess the pram could have picked up the smell when the baby had grown up and it was being stored.0

Could you try leaving it outside when ever possible and seeing whether the smell comes out of it? You really need to get it out of the fabric etc. rather than just cover it up.
I'd be a little cautious of putting a babe in something that was smoky, there is a large amount of evidence that second hand smoke (even from a parent who smokes but not around the child) can be detrimental to the child's health. I'd try airing for as long as you can to blow the smell away.Piglet

I'd try wiping down the non absorbant areas with surgical spirit as many of the componants of smoke wont be water soluble, it shouldn't leave traces as it would be silly to replace tobacco smoke with load of artificial fragrances etc!
I'd keep up with the febreze too and maybe try a scrub with sugar soap and a good rinse.0
