Taplady, sorry to hear about Lesley, she is at peace now.
Well done on the exam, it must have difficult to sit through.

Well another wet one here, not as bad as some parts of the country by the sound of it, hope nobody on here is affected.

Sat in work twiddling my thumbs until 4pm, at least I have access to the tinternet. Its a great atmosphere here as you can imagine, the boss made it better yesterday by handing out menus for the Christmas do. I don't think he realised how close he came to getting lynched.

Weather here in Essex is cold windy and wet I know this as i walked the dogs at 8 this morning the toppers(if anyone in this end of the street does anything to their house or buys something they have to get the same only better) who live opposite have lost their xmas tree that they put up outside and all the baubles are scattered up and down the road looks like they have lost the top of the tree as well.
Need to get DD1 up as we have to go to extra maths this morning and then i need to go into town as DS needs a new tie as another little angel pulled his one and ripped it in half on Thursday.
Dinner tonight is chinese as our friends will be round and then lunch tomorrow is at the golf club with my mum for her birthday which is on the 16th. so no cooking for me this weekend:j . Tree and decs will be going up today but outside will wait till mon

Sorry to hear your sad news Taplady. Congratulations on passing your exam in such difficult circumstances.

I has been chucking it down here all morning and I am feeling low and a bit tearfull. Another month I am not pregnant after 18 months of trying. Was hoping to avoid all the gynae procedures that I have to start next month but no such luck.

I have been whizzing around doing housework and stuffing the WM & DW this morning to take my mind of things while I wait for my new coffee table to be delivered. Then I need to finish my two least favourite Christmas jobs - decorating the tree and writing the rest of the cards out. OH is at work this morning so I am hoping to get the decs up by the time he gets back.

Sarnies and soup for lunch and Shepherds pie for tea(veggie style). Was supposed to be going out with some old work colleagues tonight but not feeling in the party mood.

Right off to give myself a kick up the behind!

    Have a good day everyone

    Good morning,

After 2 days of hovering at 39C, ds's temperature is back to normal. He vomited this morning, but luckily we were up at 5.25am, so the bed is safe. Since then he hasn't stopped talking, and he asked for a biscuit at 6.30.

I am always asking him to tidy up after himself, and have been known to threaten to give all of his toys to the "poor kids" if he doesn't put them away. I often wonder if he is spoilt as he has so much (he doesn't break things so I rarely throw things away) although I do pass on what I can when he seems to have finished with things.

This morning I was having my coffee in the front room, and he came in and asked me what we were getting the poor kids for Christmas. He said "We have to get them something you know".

As it's too late to do the shoeboxes, I logged on to ActionAid and we have sent school books to Ethiopia and a chicken to Malawi (at least I hope we have). Thanks to the grocery challenge, I have enough funds in my bank account to do this. I would be grateful for any suggestions via pm for next Christmas, as generally speaking I am a very enthusiatic supporter of our local children's hospice and not much else.

I am a proud and happy mummy this morning. I am grateful that ds is learning to think of other people, and despite only being 4 last month, wanted to send something to children who have nothing.

I slept on his bedroom floor last night by the way, and he woke up every hour and a half, so other than making myself a chicken dinner, and seeing to what he wants there probably won't be a great deal of OS going on today.

Take care all of you and (((hugs))) to all, especially taplady and Lesley's family.
  • Good morning everyone,it's bucketing down of rain here and windy.I slept in as my darling granddaughter rang an hour after we got into bed and needed
a lift(a little too much xmas spirit)she'd ran out of money for a taxi.So at 12.15 we went out complete with me in my PJs to pick her up.I would much rather she did this as walk home as I would'nt forgive myself if harm came to her, she's just 18 and they are a bit daft at that age are'nt they.
Not much on today as the weather's a bit restrictive. We expected it to be torrential rain as we have the annual Victorian Christmas market here this
weekend and it never fails to have horrendous rain.

Free In Three, please don't feel down. It'll happen when you least expect it.

Moneysaving, I think your'e brave having a lodger. It must be hard for you.I can understand your OH feeling as he does if he's anything like mine he would'nt like it either.

Taplady, sorry to hear your news.Even though it was expected it's always a shock and just as sad.

To everyone have a good day.Take care xxx.

sistercas - John Barrowman is probably the second sexiest man in the world. I adore him! (Had to have a cold drink after Reverbes comments about him in tights...)

The first of course being Jonny Depp :D :kisses2: . Diva I hope you feel better soon, and sorry to hear you are missing your nephews so much xx

    Morning all,

Blowing a gale here and pouring with rain, so will be mainly house based today, I need to pop to the town of many charity shops, to get some cheap wrapping paper, I do have some nice white tissue paper for the main family pressies, with pink ribbon, but for dd's stocking I wrap it in cheap stuff, its not on show, and only on there for a while before its ripped off  .

Going to put the tree up this afternoon :T , I can then get the pressies wrapped and under it, apart from dd who still has hers in a pillow case on xmas eve.

Chilli for tea tonight, with garlic bread, I am desperatly trying to empty the freezer, to get my xmas bits in.

Smoky Nice to see you posting, I do hope you are all better soon, its good to have the lurgy this week rather than over Xmas xx

Taplady, hope you are ok this morning, have been thinking of you, and lesleys family xx

Free in Three, hugs to you hun, hopefully it will happen for you soon xx

    Hi everyone :hello:

taplady - really sorry to hear your sad news.

(((hugs))) to all those that need them.

My mum finds out on Wednesday whether they've managed to remove the whole cancerous lump and then it'll be booking her in for her bout of radiotherapy.

DH and I have been down to the Farmers' Market. We got some great stuff, including a very (non-essential) carrot and orange cake. We're hibernating this weekend, due to us both suffering with colds. :o However, I need to pop out later to pick up the tickets for the cinema night tomorrow. I'm on the box office of our local community cinema, so I need some tickets to sell!

Our lunch today is a pie that we picked up from the Farmers' Market. We're so unoriginal when it comes to what we buy there! Oh, and the conversations that I have with the "egg man" aren't quite the same each time.

Have a good day all.
