Unpaid item question

I have recently closed a unpaid item dispute as the guy never got back to me. Ebay paid me my FVF.

Now the guy has emailed me saying he forgot and wants to pay. What do I do as I have got my FVF's back?

do you want to continue this transaction? If you do want to then get him to send you the money. Make sure that the funds ahve cleared and you are holding the dosh, send the item to him and click on unpaid disputes in "my ebay" Find the dispute, click on view. Here he can click on whatever and this should remove it from his account...I have never done this before but it looks simple enough!

Be really really nice to him cos he is still able to give a neg! ;)

He probably wouldn't want another neg from you then, maybe he did forget and now says he wants to pay just to stop you issuing a neg! don't leave feedback until he has whatever you decide to do

    You have 3 options...

You could either say to him that you are going to relist the item now the transaction has been closed.

You could sell him the item and if he asks about the strike give him instructions on how to appeal... if you are happy for this to happen.

If you don't trust him relist item and block him from bidding again.

Think about whther you want the hassle of auctioning this again, how much is it worth and do you think you could get more money if you relist it again? His feedback is good so he may be trustworthy. I can't see what harm it would do if he paid you and you send the item. (This is probably what I would do to avoid any more hassle!)

These are just my opinions, perhaps wait for a bit to see what other people suggest. There are some good ebay "experts" who may be able to advise you better.! ;D

Just checked and I was mistaken he has not neg, just one neutral.

If I remove the unpaid item strike and sell him it,will ebay charge me again for the FVF fee?

I don't know this for sure, I have checked the ebay "Help" and found just this:

If you want to remove an Unpaid Item strike for a buyer, take the following steps:
Open the relevant Unpaid Item dispute by going to My eBay and clicking on the Unpaid Item Disputes link.
On the "View Dispute" page, click the link "Cancel the Unpaid Item strike for this dispute."
You will then be asked to confirm that you want to remove the Unpaid Item strike.
The buyer will receive an email confirming that the strike has been removed.

Has he asked for the strike to be removed? I would leave it in his hands. I would think you will get charged your fees again!

One thing to be wary of - if the buyer suddenly decides they want to pay by a different method, e.g. cheque, then be very suspicious indeed.

I got one guy who tried this on me - messed me about for weeks, 3 failed promised of payment, then ignored the unpaid item dispute. Minutes after I left him negative feedback, he emailed and said he would send a cheque, provided I withdrew the feedback and cancelled the non-payer strike.

The 'cheque's in the post excuse' doesn't wash anymore!

Trust your instincts, if you feel the buyer is messing you around, run a mile and relist your item.
