Worth checking, IE hasnt manage to set its self to use a web proxy has it?0

IE diagnostics now suggesting firewall, can someone advise how I determine if firewall is the problem please?
Basically, turn it off and see if IE7 works then. How you turn it off will depend on which one you've got running. Go to your Security Centre in Control Panel to see what that says about your Firewall.0 -
usually a firewall (besides windows' own) will put an icon in the tray (bottom right of the taskbar), right clicking this icon should give you the option to turn various features on and offUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

That's why I said to check in Security Centre - it will tell you whether a Firewall is turned on or not and, if you click on the downward-pointing arrowheads to the right of the "ON" signal, it will tell you which Firewall is in use.
By the way - which OS are you using? Vista? XP?0 -
IMO you are much better sticking with firefox anyway. Given that IE has more security holes than swiss cheese, I wouldn't use it if you paid me.0
