cazscoob - yes, he'll be 3, but we're still debating nursery. I know it's paid for, but we will wait and see what we decide when we're closer to that time. My grandson goes to the closest nursery, and they would be in the same age area. Unfortunately, my grandson seems to take delight in tormenting and pushing over my 2yo son. So if we do decide to take him to nursery, it would have to be a different one. We pick up grandson 3 days a week (due to his mum's work schedule) at his nursery at 5pm, it would be a bit of a juggle. Plus I'm a SAHM, so it's not like I won't be home during the day anyway. I don't know - it's all up in the air right now on nursery.
sooz - i had induction with DS, and it wasn't bad at all. They did the pessary - inserted at 4pm, labour started slowly about 7-8pm, just before midnight waters broke and 10 minutes later out popped DS. I was terrified it was going to be god-awful, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. No pain meds and I survived just fine - and I am not horribly great with pain. DH laughed cuz my big goal (other than healthy delivery for me & baby) was no screaming or swearing by me during delivery. Gotta maintain a little dignity, eh?
astonsmummy - I think as long as the carseats meet the safety standards, they are fine. Our carseats weren't horribly expensive but we've been very happy with them.
myaccount - I'm so happy to see you got a BFP. Mine started out faint at 10dpo as well, but they do gradually get darker. Although I stopped testing to save my sanity, as comparing lines can make you crazy. I had cramping the first few weeks after the BFP as well, now more round ligament pain - but I read (and heard) that it's normal. Congrats!!!!
Ok. Sorry so long winded.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

Thank you so much! Am busy working myself up into a total state, as all I keep hearing about are friends' horrific failed inductions. I've been seriously thinking about refusing an induction and insisting on a c-section. Trouble is I really really want another water birth, as the last one was so peaceful, & the thought of not being allowed in the birth centre or the pool is scaring the sh*t out of me. I love the birth centre...it's calm & tranquil & the staff are nice. In the proper part of the hospital it's horrid, busy & everyone either ignores you, shouts or bullies you. I've had one baby there before, & I refuse to be stuck on a bed strapped to a monitor. I may just hide until she comes out on her own.......

Triggles I'm in similar pos; Chris will be 2.5 when bubba comes and I'm not gonna buy a pram until baby is here, I'm gonna try to have bubs in a sling and then I can have chris's buggy with him in it when ness he likes walking places at the mo but not for long, I don't walk to anywhere just around the shops so I'm hoping I don't need to buy anything other than i want a different type of sling to what I have now  I'm sending chris to nursery when its free but only because we want to send him to a school that is about 15 - 20 mins away so gonna try to get him in one nr there so he has some friends before starting big school.
Also i can't have a buggy board coz I'm always kicking the bottom of pram now so with a board I'd be falling over all the time! :rotfl:
AM the best car seats are Maxi Cosi or Britax (I was told that by council carseat fitting service) just make sure that it is fitted correctly and if your car has isofix then an isofix seat is the easiest to fit correctly.
btw Chris's 1st carseat was a SX one that matched his pram, they all have to meet the brit standard so technically all are safe0 -
If it makes you feel any better, there were 3 other women being induced at the same time as me - we all sat and chatted for awhile waiting for labour to start. Only one was a repeat induction - no horror story - just first pessary didn't start labour. And by the next morning all 4 of us had our babies and were fine.
Once labour started, I spent a fair amount of time in the huge bathtubs provided, alternating a bath, then walking around the halls and such, then another bath, then walking around. Worked great for me.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
OH just made me laugh! We are talking about possibly replacing our square pouffe with our round occasional table (currently in exile in the garage, and I said I thought the table would enable us to pull our armchair intot he room a bit more as it takes us less space, and he said...
"Well it's round so it will always be less square."

skintchick - okay - I read that part about your OH and the table to my DH - he said "well, of course, makes perfect sense to me." Obviously a guy thing!
sami - I was a bit worried about kicking the buggy board as well. Do they have them at Mothercare that you can "test" in the shop?MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

Keely the group is "past and present"
you are more than welcome in there, I've accepted your request I figured the Keely must have been you
Triggles I'm not sure if you can try them out in Mumcare but I think my friendly local independant would pop one on the display model of "my pram" for me if I ask. Do you have a good local inde shop?0 -

There are a few that have bases, I know the mama's and papas ones have bases available seperate.
I'd say good place to start is by checking the fit lists on britax n max cosi (links bellow) or go into mothercare and ask them so you will be able to try them out and check which is easiest/fits corectly.
Also ring your council and see if they have a fitting service like mine they are independant and ours were really friendly they come under the umbrella of the "road safety team" in the council
