thanks MFD, I've never had a shocking change before - although I did used to have very dark purple/black hair  I looked like mortica with my pale english rose skin! My HD keep trying to get me to go red but I already look like a twin with my big sis so I don't want to copy her hair colour - it would be a bit weird me thinks :)Pic of me n sis with mum n dad :D
PS. I'm normally as pale as sis but spray tan was required for the wedding

sami- I always try and approach things with a whats the worst that can happen attitude. If you don't like it then you could have it dyed another colour so why not go for it :D Its really nice to treat ourselves a little during pg don't you think????? :D

right I'm off to bed.... Sending SB and Miss_C good labour vibes :D

r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this response :p
  • Sami just be careful if you dye your hair, there are some reports that dying your hair is not safe in pregnancy.

I had a chat with my hairdresser who says its totally safe but your hair might react differently to how it normally would, i have highlights and the last couple of times he has had to put more on than normal but he said it usually works the other way round and you need less.

My hairdresser was the first person I told cos of that, how sad am i? Although it probably better than not telling him and ending up looking like a lightbulb!

Am I first up this morning??? all you with pink bumps be aware that in five years time you'll be up this early on a saturday for ballet too!

  • Morning all - I've been up since 7, and out of the house and everything. My parents car has broken down, so I've had to drive over there to lend them mine, then be driven back again. I am now contemplating a morning nap to recover from all the excitement ;)

Just wanted to ask you all a question about Muslins, I didnt use any last time but thought I'd get some, now I've got an ebay voucher for £3 off anything so thought I'd get some from there, the ones I've seen are 70cm x 70cm, is that standard size? seems pretty big.

Sounds about right to me AM :) they are massive but most of the time you'll have them folded over twice to make a long thin rectangle to put over your shoulder.
How on earth did you survive bottle feeding with out a muslin permanently on your shoulder?

ETA: look out for John lewis or zorbit muslins as they come most recommended for quality ;)

I'm making christmas truffles! They are just setting now, waiting to decorate. I've been very good and not eaten any yet :D

I feel really sick today, perhaps its all the melted chocolate in the air. And baby has been incredibly active, kicking me constantly, all morning.

Mum freaked out a bit yesterday, there was a baby on TV and she suddenly realised that I'll have one of them. She didn't think that was right!

Winding and muslins - I tend to just sit the baby upright on my knee - with my hand supporting him from the front, and holding the bib up to catch sick, while rubbing the back. Does that make sense?

Hi all, I'm just back in from Christmas shopping - usually I'm still in bed at this time on a weekend! Felt really really ill when I went to bed last night - couldn't even lie on my side it was making me feel so sick. Felt a bit green when I woke up this morning, and now my nose is running so I'm dreading it turning into more! :(

On the bright side, I've got a fair bit more shopping done, including making a start on OH's presents including a book in a cheap bookstore which has pop-out cardboard models of Wall-E characters to make. It was only £2 but will keep him out of mischief for ten mins :D

I went to Mothercare as I had the £5 off when you spend £20 voucher from the Daily Mail the other day (it's still valid until Tues 16th if you've got one languishing in the recycle bin!). I got accosted by the store manager but she was ever so nice and helped me with choosing two new bras. She also told me about their store card and you get lots of vouchers with it so I signed up (don't worry, I know it's 24.9% interest so I'll clear it every month!). The vouchers they have instore now run out on 31st Dec so she said use what i want now then take the rest back in the new year and swap for a new set :D
