PS - SHOULD I START A NEW DIARY? DOES ANYONE CARE?
I'm thinking I haven't really done much this year, so maybe a new diary /clean sheet will help me to stay on track?Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -
We care.
Does it make any difference if it has a new title though. Its whats happening inside your head that makes the difference. Mind you if I had a new diary I'd be calling it "Do I really look like the sort of person who wears a sodding bikini?" Next year I will be issuing OH with a VERY detailed wish list.
ps. Not sure quite how you figure out you haven't done very much this year when you post things like "I have cash left on the day before payday the week before x-mas" cleverly omiting the nah nah nah nah nah that you're dying to say as the rest of us go way over budget and then way further over budget.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I'm starting yet another diary in January as I like the "clean slate" feeling I get at the start of the year.
Up to you though, we'll be reading regardless0 -
Oh yeah....please start a new diary and call it that!!!!! (Did DH really buy you a bikini for Xmas, or am I reading too much into it?)Start Date: 27/11/2010

Oh yes. Only half of its XS and the other half is M. Being rather top heavy I wasn't overly impressed at the XS part that would struggle to cover a PG tips Pyramid tea bag.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

£10 – DS2’s School photos. I wasn’t going to get any cos of the price of a set, but it is a really good photo of him and what price memories eh? so I decided to get 1 8x5" He wont be the sweet gap-toothed little boy forever (ah, getting sentimental now)
£9.99 – bottle of vodka for BIL whose birthday is tomorrow.
£1.89 – birthday card for BIL. The selection in our local shop for Brother were terrible (hence the price).

Back from a visit to MIL to collect the presents that the weather scuppered us from doing earlier in the week. Every year they do us a food hamper which they have done every year since we got together. Obviously it’s always gratefully received, even more so this year following commencement of operation budget. It’s even saved me from having to go to Morrisons to buy sandwich stuff today (I’m working tomorrow) because she’s put tinned tuna, and some luncheon meat in there.
Had a nice Boxing day too (although I keep getting heart sink that I now have to wake up at 5am every week day morning again til the middle of February). Had some excitement around 4pm when the electricity went off. My phone went off too as did the broadband (thank the lord for Mobile phone facebook). Got mum to ring YEDL who answered with an automated message saying there had been an outage (or summat) and they would aim to get it back on by 5:30pm. DS1, DS2 and I had a game of candlelit junior Trivial Pursuit and just as we finished, the electrickery came back on.
I wasn’t able to hit the post-Christmas sales as DH had been roped into working by his boss, for his father-in-law’s Boxing Day party (very rich & important man) working the car park, and ferrying people from car park at bottom of hill, to house at top of hill. He earned £120 for it. Not that I will see any of it, but it will stop him from cadging off me, seeing how we have 19 days to payday, and he had only £50 cash left! He also brought me home a bottle of Lanson Brut Rose champagne in a presentation box which also had some chocolate truffles in it, given to him by the Lady of the House who felt sorry for me being stuck at home with no power and no car to go anywhere with power LOL.
I re-read my old diary yesterday and found a note about a survey site I had joined (one Poll) and promptly forgotten about (Balance, £3.20). So I’m going to attempt to do surveys every day in the hope I’ll get to pay out (£40) before next Doomsday. Did 2 x 10p surveys yesterday but there’s nowt for me today. DS2 is now also old enough to join Young Poll, so I have signed him up and spent the morning reading out questions to him (80p). There is a £5 joining fee for children, and they only have to have £30 before payout.
I was down to my last £1 in my online betting account, but thankfully a 6-team accumulator came in which netted me (wait for it) £6.66!!! (I promise not to leave town). I put £10 into the account in August, and at one point it was up to £50 so I’ve lost all of that, but I’ve not had to put anything in since August. (I like my bets, wish I understood how to do Matched Betting though).
Did some decluttering today by picking up a handbag which has been on the bedroom floor since my work's Xmas do two weeks ago, and despite taking a purse (out with me) and not buying a drink (to my knowledge) there was £3.45 lurking in the bottom of the bag! That's gone into my pint pot along with some loose change I found when I was doing the laundry yesterdayStart Date: 27/11/2010

Decluttering: As 2010 is the year of the declutter, I have taken an idea from Flylady (can’t remember the exact number) but have decided to take 5 items from the house each day and get rid of them via freecycle, binning, recycling, selling or giving them away to charity (Paperwork is not included). This works out at 1825 items over the year so I would hope that would be a large amount of clutterbusting! If they are items I choose to donate to charity, then it shouldn’t be too heavy for me to take to work ready to do this in my lunch break, so no excuses! Hopefully a nice walk up to the charity shop each day will encourage me to take time away from my desk during the week at work.Start Date: 27/11/2010
