Basically i have about £1400 going out and *roughly* £1500 coming in.......petrol and food not included, so you can see very tight. That is a rough estimate, won't no exactly till i start work.0

Its sods law, with ur oh hours being cut, would he be able to pick up the slack and reduce childcare costs if theres any, I can see where ur coing from re ebay, but can you really find enough items each month, not meaning to put a downer on it, just trying to be pratical.
Can either u or ur oh look at mystery shopping work, may help out a bit.
What about a new SOA, incase anyone can help, xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I dont pay childcare costs, my lovely mum and mother in law have my baby - bless em.
I am hoping my other halfs hours go up, no i cannot really rely on Ebay so i need to think of something. I don't have to pay council tax for 2 months now so thats £210 saved and i am also getting holiday pay because i was made redudant - so will put that in savings...... use it when needed rather than pay off a debt like i was going to, for the time being i'll keep it incase i need it.0 -
I shall do my SOA tomorrow *hopefully* as i am going to bed soon, thank you for your reply.0

Sweet dreams, at least thats one less expensive, and bet there plzed as punch, as you say no council tax and savings etc then at least youve got a cushion for a couple of months, fingers crossed hubbys hours go back up soon. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

hello smarties. Im sure it will be ok in the end and you will work it out even if it is 'tight'!! If you post soa then some people might notice something like rags said and even if its onnly £10 here and there it will all help. Also if you working in the bank you should get a bonus quiet often as dont they work on the fact they want you to hit targets etc etc...not to sure if it is that way where your waorking but my friend worked in a bank and they worked to targets etc.....so hopefully you will start getting alittle more soon, and maybe your oh hrs will go back up a bit or could he get a part time job aswell?? not sure how much his hrs have been cut or if it would work so he could??
Hopefully it will all be ok in the long run.

Thank you hun, yeh i do get bonuses so that will be going straight off the debt when i get it, i think its every 3 months or sumthing.
I am feeling really down today, my little one woke up at 3am wide awake, wouldnt go bak down, everytime i walked out she cried, i tried leaving her to cry, i went back in - medicine, staying in room with her etc.... she was wide awake, i was so tired and stressed i sat there cryin...she eventually went to sleep at 5.20 am and woke up again at 6 - i have awful stomach ache today, am tired and cannot believe this time last week she was sleeping right thru till 9am...how things change!!!0 -
One cup of strong coffee winging its way to you smarties.............. dont worry hun, i have been there and back with ds1, you get so tired then frustrated there is nothing you can do but cry. Feels like you take one step forward then two steps back. just getting to the complete zombe state now with ds2, the dark circles under your eyes is all the rage havent you heard?! :rotfl:
I think you will be ok smarties but will have to stick ridgidly to a budget, i would def keep a note of all incomings and outgoings. Have you checked with the tax credit people that you are getting everything you are intitled to? Even with your wage going up slightly the fact your oh's has reduced may mean your intitled to a bit more???!!!!!!!
So sit down, take some paracetamol for your tummy ache, drink your brew and zone out for 10 mins. The stress of everything you have been through lately has prob just come to a head and the worry wont be helping. And schedule some me time when your oh comes home from work, even having a bath for half an hour, away, on your own in peace can do wonders. We love our kids no matter what but when sleep deprived even supermum needs a break.
big hugs,
rags

EDIT: just had a thought, you dont say how much debt is on credit cards, interest rates and who they are with, but can you not do Martins credit card shuffle (moving debt from the highest interest card to another and asking them for a cheap interest rate life of balance for doing so) saves trying for new credit and can help your credit score??? just a thought.December 2018: £20,850.24. Hi Rags, thank you ever so much for your kind words. Stomach ache has gone, tablets and hot water bottle did the trick. Yep i am deffo going to have a nice bath tonight at some point!
I havent thought about the card shuffle, i am up to my limit on them so have no spare room to move them about... i cannot apply for another one coz my credit rating is pants.
I wrote in my notebook last night, all my incomings and outgoings and i started a spending diary yesterday and what money comes in etc.
I have checked the tax credits and not entitled to nemore, think i maybe getting to much actually but shall ring them and find out for sure. xx0 -
least it is an option for when the debts start reducing a bit!!
the spending diary is a good idea, we are gonna do something similar here and write down what money goes on when we get it out of the atm machines (my oh does this alot thinking i didnt know he was spending it in the garages)December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
