I fell off the wagon

The flat is looking less and less likely to complete, I have put my foot down now and said that if it doesn't happen this week it doesn't happen. There are certain things that I would have to do to the flat which has probably got squatters now it has been left empty so long. I have 5 weeks until I start uni and if I am not going to get this flat then I need to look at where I will be renting for the next year. Unfortunately this will mean that my rent will no longer be on an interest only basis which means that I am going to be struggling again so I have to work every weekend again which I am now feeling a little peeved about.
I have paid a lot off the loan and my debt free date on the loan has come forward by several months. However as I may have bigger monthly expenses now I have to try to squirrel some of my earnings away to pay for that.Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
Today was always going to be a rough day, it's DD's birthday but I won't see her till Wednesday. I went for dinner with the gf while at work (I'm working at the O2 at the minute) and fell into old bad habits of paying for the meal, which she got cross at me for, she is proud and doesn't like it and to be honest I do see where she is coming from as if the situation was reversed I would feel uncomfotable with her paying for it all.
I need to find new ways of dealing with my lows that don't involve me trying to pay for everything.Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
I hear you on that one - I am an emotional spender defo - i've started keeping my boots & nectar points and tesco's vouchers for those occasions and then it doesn't cost me any extra money (if that makes sense)
Sorry to hear about the flat - you don't have much luck property wise do you? glad you have pais a chunk of your loan- you must feel good about that?
I bet you can't wait to see DD wednesday :-)TOTAL: (1.9.2008) £[strike]20,971.00[/strike] (02.12.10)£11,006.07£9,262.93 Paid off (Since LBM)Debt Free Date [strike]2021[/strike] 2015Savings £100 Dec NSD 11/20, Sealed pot challenger 1043:xmassign:0 -
DD and I had a great day out, we went mountain biking in the Forest, and enjoyed a picnic which we got from the supermarket before going. I actually saved money without having to compromise on the day. We normally go horse riding but she went with her mums friend on Monday so she didn't feel like she lost out. Her mum's looking at hiring her a horse on a more permanent basis, depending on if she can afford it (after Christmas etc) so I have agreed that she can buy some horse riding gear from her grade money.
My flat is also due to be signed for tomorrow! I'm not sure how much of that is due to me threatening to pull out if it didn't complete this week (and I did mean it). Either way that means I get the chance to try to get it livable by the time I start back at uni!Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
Great to see you both doing well but still having a life! It's amazing how much you can do without spending too much. We've enjoyed two meals at pizza express during the summer holidays with tesco vouchers.....it tastes so much better when you're not spending 'real' money!
Come on Justruth - time to kick some butt!:rotfl: (and good luck with your flat) xx0 -
I'm glad you had a good day and still stayed MSE
And wicked news about the flat - will this make things a bit tight for the next couple of months? might be worth getting on the old free scratchcards and things just for the odd £10 here and there?

Thanks Mudbath I'm on it, just slowing down till I see how much I really can afford to overpay. I have MOT and insurance due in next couple of weeks, but I also have the cash to pay for them.
I'm have been assured by my line manger at work that I can have a few shifts during term time but I am not currently commited to anything. Hopefully I will be able to afford all the minimum repayments just on student loan etc and any extra I make will go towards reducing the term of the loan. It's really satisfying to see it come down.Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
Going to take the car for it's MOT, unfortunately I couldn't get into the council run centre so I am risking one that has space before the MOT runs out. Lets hope that they are a reputable company and not going to try the usual scams!Debt £5600 all 0%0
