  • It seems that Next only work one way when it comes to missing items being delivered and returned. If you sign for the parcel and they say that the item was in there, then that's the end of the problem as far as Next are concerned.

However, if you return a parcel with a few items in, have the couriers stickers and signature but then receive a letter stating that an item was missing, that too is the end of the matter to them - as they just won't credit you for it.

I now return all items to my local store unless they are delivered on one item per delivery note.

as to the coat issue, i find with next kids clothing in particular i always have problems with there "zips" mainly on coats and cardigans, think i have had most of the items i wanted now, real shame about the coat though, i know how annoying it is to get something you really wanted in the sale, only to find it damaged etc, it's heartbreaking to send it back and have to look for another one at twice the cost and not as nice, keep checking the site, adding quite a few bits and pieces daily, was quite lucky the other day, they had some of the girls spot slipper boots in my daughters size, they are really nice and furry, think they had just been returned as they were not out when i looked there first.

i had a few items that were meant to be delivered within 5 working days and should have been here by now, phoned up and they said i will have to wait 2-4weeks :( its a pain but realy want them so will just have to wait although reallynenxt shouldnt say they will deliver in a certain time if they dont plan to, grr!

Same problem here. Ordered an x-box for the boyfriend, and the email said 5 days for delivery. Phoned Next yesterday evening, to be told there was a mistake with the email and that it should have stated up to 14 days for delivery. Broke the news to the boyfriend (who works in management at a company distribution depot) and he said I should get back on the phone to Next and get some sort of compensation out of them (even if its £20 in vouchers or something) because "when we get it wrong for customers, we compensate them appropriately." So my question is - Has anyone had any luck getting a discount/credit note/vouchers etc by complaining about the mislead delivery times?

Do Next use DHL at all? I ordered a TV on the first day of the VIP Sale and was advised it would be delivered within 3 weeks. I had a card through the door tonight from DHL, and have requested the parcel be redelivered on Friday when I'm off work. I can't think of anything else it might be, but just wanted to check. Cheers

    No probs.

If it makes you feel better on missing out it's actually quite thin material so not too great really, especially in this weather!

My DS is 7 too but he's a giant!!!

bought a bunk bed in the sale, and commented to OH when opening it, that i hoped it was all there, as it looked like it had been re-wrapped

so before assembling, i made sure every part was there, and not damaged - nope, eveything ok

well 2hrs later (and much arguing between me and OH), weve 3/4s finished the bed, when we find we cant get the top bunk to fit - seems the fixings have been welded on in the wrong place

rang Next, they have no more left in stock, they cant send replacement parts, and if i want to return it, i have to dismantle it and repack it! well the packing went straight in the bin, and theres no way im spending another 2hrs taking the things apart (tbh i dont think some of it comes apart, once snapped in place). So im now stuck with a bunk bed, thats only got a lower bunk

OH, thinks we might be able to get someone to re-weld the fixing in the right place, but thats an added expense

So, once ive calmed down abit, im gonna ring Next again. But what do people think i should ask for. Next to collect the bed in its present half assembled state - money off, so i can at least see it we can fix the weld, or should i just give in, take it apart myself, try and pack it in something and return it as requested?

Was that the Amy bunk Beds?

We bought them and didnt have that problem, the problems that we did have were with the slats. First a few of the chained ones wouldnt all snap into place properly and then later on when putting the single slats in once the beds were assembled, you couldnt get them in at all, they length are the width of the bed! No way of wedging them in at all and we werent going to take the beds apart and take all slats oout just to put these single ones in. We gave up and the beds are fine.

Took us 3 hours! We too rang Next about them and they said no one else had that problem and said the same thing that they said to you. Luckily they are fine without those slats!
  • i have a next free delivery code - can i post it on here? i thought it would be handy if you see just one thing in the sale and you don't want to pay delivery charge for it.

I would call them - there is no harm and at least they can tell you the status - if it has been dispatched or not - then you can contact couriers if it has been dispatched.
