The big supermarkets like ASDA and Tesco have become far too powerful. The same thing has already happened in America with Wal-Mart, in many small cities and towns they have put everyone else out of business.

I agree, and we the consumer have given them that power. If we didn't shop there ... well, it's pretty simple to work out :D
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

how was it misleading. It was quite clear, it said ' up to 50%' if the pound signs in peoples eyes blinded them from seeing the words 'up to' its hardly anyones elses fault but the reader/customer. and before i get slated i do agree that the workds 'up to' should have been bigger. I thought there was some legislation about this somewhere but i cant seem to find it.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Not in the short term but its not rocket science to predict that for lots of the big High Street names there is going to come a time (some sooner than others) when their retail business is not sustainable in the face of low cost internet only operations.

Was just asking on behalf of my sister she works at smiths full time and is worried the same thing could happen to smiths.

why do u say Monsoon and Accessorize?

I have a friend that works with them. She is now worried as they have been warned that there will be redundancies. IMO, their stores are over-priced, but it's still such a shame :(

  • Hi all, my mum works in a Woolworths in a smallish village and today lots of people have been stealing goods and because it is so so busy in there, there is no one to stop them doing it.
It's disgusting behaviour!! It seems people literally want something for nothing.
