Nokia SIM cards
My Nokia 3210 PAYG has died and I have just bought a Nokia 2630 PAYG to replace it thinking I would swap the Sim cards as they are both on Vodafone.
It has now been suggested the Sim cards may not be interchangeable and certainly the one in the 2630 looks bigger.
Can anyone help with this please?

As far as I am aware all sim cards are the same, I have switched sims in mobiles numerous times with no problems, is it not possibly just the adapter that looks bigger?0 -
Unless it's the old sim card is ten years old (or more) it'sll fit. All sim cards are the same size.0

Thanks for replies.
I bought a new Nokia 2630 PAYG thinking I would swap the Sim card into it from my old Nokia 3210 PAYG as they are both on Vodafone.
It was suggested that after all they may not be compatible and the one in the new Nokia 2630 looks bigger.
I've measured them and the one in my old phone (and all other Sims I have) measure 25mm x 15mm whereas in the new Nokia 2630 it measures 30mm x 20mm.

I dont think its the size of sim which is different. I think its due to the fact the newer sims are capable of doing more things eg Picture Messages/WAP/GPRS0

have you tried putting the sim card in the phone and if so, make sure your not trying to insert the sim into the memory card slot which is abit smaller...trans flash or micro sd cards as they are called usually found behind the battery next to the sim card slot.
just a thought.:D
ps even if the sim card is smaller it should still work if not ask vodafone if they can sort it out for you as you can usually transfer your number when you buy a new phone.
Plans for 2009
1/ Get fit. 2/ Get my figure back. 3/ Get the MAN BACK! :kisses2::happylove

this dont make sense ? sim cards were the size of bank cards early on but all GSM mobiles take mini-sim cards now which we know as SIMSSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

All SIM cards are the same size - I think your best solution is to go your local phone shop and get them to transfer the SIM.
Without being able to see it, its difficult to believe that it could be a different size. Both phones are relatively modern so should accept the normal everyday SIM.0 -
Most sims have a corner cut off with a chip on one side like a bank card chip, you could be confusing it with a Micro SD memory expansion card.0

Thanks for replies
The SIM in my new Nokia 2630 phone measures 30mm x 20mm and came in the box with the SIM already fitted in the phone by Nokia during manufacturer.
My question is if anyone has experience of whether my existing smaller SIM measuring 25mm x 15mm will work in the new Nokia 2630.
Yes, both SIMs have the corner cut off in the usual way.
