we have been to visit the house. It is a decent size but needs alot of work done to it. I mean ALOT. new kitchen and bathroom, central heating, roof needs some tiles replaced, moss needs cleared from tiles and rain gutters replaced.

And????? Is it doable do you think?:D

You never know your luck though how quickly it might sell. It seems to be picking up again just now and I have heard of someone in Monifieth selling theirs after just two weeks. It obviously depends on the size and condition of it but there is no harm in getting a couple of valuation visits from some estate agents and see if they think you can do anything to improve your chances of a quick sale. Apart from sell it for tuppence:rotfl:.

well had an eventful few days. had this place valued andits worth a few K less than we thougth so we placed a bid on the repo and it was refused out of hand. Have decided to not put our place on market at the moment and will wait it out. Technicaly we have enough to cover deposit on repo without selling flat but flat needs to go to pay for the work needing done on repo.

Anyway we have decided that to us the repois not worth any more than we have offered so either someone will pay more for it or the agents may end up contacting us several weeks/months down the line asking if offer still stands

I am quite organised today... done 6 hours overtime, planning the same tomorrow. I have set up standing orders to shift money on pay day to other accounts for saving for things like care tax and next years insurances.

House is semi tidy and I have a large pile of things to be listed on ebay...must find the insperation to list them. I have lost around 3 stone recently and have a ton of tops and jeans still with tags that are now 2 sizes too big

Sounds like a sensible plan to play the long game LP - you know in your own hearts what the place is worth - no point in paying more or you will always be sayinfg "what if".....if someone else wants to overpay for it, then good luck to them, eh?

Exactly EH. The house is too many compromises. We want 4 bed detatched with garage, the repo its a 2 bed semi but with alot of room to expand but as I say it needs the work done on it. Totally not worth it.

That's a compromise and a half. I think if I was looking for 4 bed detached then the least I would settle for would be 3 bed semi. 2 bed semi needing lot of work would be a step too far I think - mind you we would have liked a 4 bed detached too and ended up with 3 bed end terrace needing tons of work done on it hence partly why we are in debt.
