Well I need to draw a line under previou SOA's and start a new one. We have managed to negotiate a lower APR on one of our loans :D and DWP have mad a decision on my claim for DLA. They have decided to award me the lower care component which is £18.65 per week, this means my tax credits also increase as i am now officially classed as a disabled worker :j

Obviously a huge surplus and to be fair we do tend to have that amount spare as we tend to throw at debts andhave cleared around 20k in the last 2 years.

Aims are the same, clear capital one hopefully for end of june then next then overpay Zopa loan. where as it is not the highest APR there is no penalty for overpaying and there is on the GE loan. I am as well paying more off the zopa loan than having money sitting in savings gathering practically nothing.

  • Looking very positive for you there LP. How do you feel about the decision? Seems worse somehow on paper and i hate filling DLA forms in for DD2 just want to cry at the end of it, because it regurgitates everything. Although the positive side is that it will help you tremendously and that is what counts at the end of the day.

I have mixed feelings about the decision. On the one hand at least they have offered me something but on the other hand I hate to be branded 'disabled'. I struggle to admit I need help to do alot of things.

Is it not a bit annoying getting your payslip a week in advance? I get mine the same day my money goes in which feels great knowing that money is there. I think I would feel a bit down especially if I was completely skint knowing that there was this amount of money about to go in but not being able to get hold of it for a week.
