Just a quick update, been very nice to my dad, I did a balance transfer from my halifax card to his credit card as hes got 22% apr, and I rang up out of curoisty
to see what offers theyve got and they offered my life of balance for 5.95% so had the whole lot transferred to dads card and hes going to pay when the bill comes.
So what I've done for peace of mind, is set the direct debit up for minimum payment, that way if I'm away he wouldnt know what post to open and that would be covered.
Was so nice to be able to do something for dad, ok I've not paid the actual bill, but it save a wack of interest.
DD getting bit better, came home from school quiet, but bedtimes are the worst, she wants Whisky (we all do), but she knows about the resuce dog situation, and think when she has another dog make it easier.
The cat from next door, so weird, came into the kitchen straight to where Whiskys water bowl and food was, and looks really shocked, so now she has her own bowl and a spot of milk, the cat sleeps under the perspeck, in day, so we put a bowl of water, the neighbour laughed as he said the cat comes in for breakfast + disappears, all the way to us, he said she can have milk if we want to give her a treat..... shes cottoned onto that.
She was so funny earlier, went out to see if she was still there, sprawled out in the patio chair and outstretched her paw, tickled her belly, she outstretched her other paw, picked her up, she put her paw and pointed to the laundry basket, next to the patio chair put her in there, looked as if to say thats it you can go now!
I looked at her and thought Whiskys taught you well, honeslty dont know whos the daftest me or her!!
Back to studying tomorrow, aiming to write about the travel industry, so wish me luck xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Good news 2ngt, went and booked dds party, sports hall, get 2 hrs, they supply two staff members, we do the food, and they also put a bouncy castle up for the 2nd half, all in comes to £45. Which in itself is brilliant, but dad paid as a thank you for doing the balance transfer for him.
Puddles (the cat from nxt dr, shes got double barreled name, but answers to puddles), so funny earlier, she come into the house, sat in Whiskys corner, then walked to the fridge and sat there - got her some milk, she spotted the ham, (getting ham ready 4 dinner), broke a piece off she turned her nose up, then went and sat by the washing machine, lifted her head up as if to point to the cupboard- (that was Whiskys trick, as Whisky had his own plate, and after walkies or he had done something gd, straight to the cupboard for plate if it was meal time or dolly mixture for others).
Got Whiskys plate out, broke up the ham, got dad to put it be her, she turned her nose up...... and walked to Whiskys corner sat down and waited for it to be put where Whiskys plate was.
I couldn't believe who was the daftest- puddles has now been told a milk treat, but dont push it!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
So good looking at the online bank statement and theres a small overdraft so by 30th June it will be £200 od, which is good as Id estimated that Id be left with £250 od.
Nearly end of month - early update
All bills paid
Car nearly full of Petrol
Have £10 in my purse - so thats £2 for cinema Sat morning, and McDonalds as a treat afterwards - may be £10 gone...... but 2ngt was the 1st night we didnt have hystericals at bedtime, and think being at home Sat wouldnt be best for dd, so very mse part day out
Done income v outgoings for July, now been able to account for car ins, due Dec, (est £200 by then) and I'm not in negative, no loan payment in July, snowball says £225, allocated £250, thats £200 on OD, that be cleared, my account allows my tohave the first £300 of od as free, may take couple of months to get fully sorted to new regime, but wont be accuring interest bills
Done more xmas shopping, 3/4 way through
I will shock my OU tutor as this is the 4th assisgnment, but the 1st that I have not asked for an extension!!
Done balance transfer for dad, so nice to be able to do him a favour,
Good news - got accepted for next course with OU, its another 2nd level business course, that starts Oct, (got overlap 3weeks, get organised by then).
FINGERS CROSSED- GET ALL CLEAR
Were haveing a home visit Sunday to make sure the house is suitable for a rescue Spaniel - so if its yes, dont see why not, know more after Sunday
I can't thank you all enough, you've let me babble, youve all been brilliant supports and I cant thank you enough for that.
Now my finances are sorted, I'm looking at going to Cuba or taking dd with me to Dom Rep in 2011, depends on whether we can save. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

The fact that you listen to me babbling, means a lot, just trying to look positive where I can.
What a farce with the dog rescue centre, we were all on track, got a phonecall tonight was due to go and meet the dog at the weekend, without sounding awful, we'd asked for male 2 - 4yrs, but fell in love with a lady dog aged 5, so said we'd love to meet her, everything was on plan, we found out 2ngt the dog is nearly 7, barks at other dogs when shes still on her lead, has a health prob, which we knew about + were more than happy to take on, we now find this is much worse.
We chatted about it, and said that although we would love to rehome her, the implications are too much, absolutely broke all our hearts, feel so quilty as its not the dogs fault.
Think made worse at it would of been Whiskys 14th bday today.
But on the positive side, we have our name down with a breeder in Wales, thier pups are due July, and we are going to meet some Spaniel pups on Thursday, there not ready to end July, but as we already have hols booked (which Whisky was meant to go on), the new pups wont be old enough to go out, the breeder as said she would look after him for us......
DD has a list of names ready......
Bailey (wasnt sure if it should be Mint Baileys, Caramel Baileys, Coffee Baileys or just Baileys)
Next choice -
Vodka
Strongbow
Gin
We have had a Brandy and Whisky before.....
I'm not tempting faith, were just have to keep fingers crossed.
xx
Not bad, considering we all said we'd never have another dog.... that went to were look into getting a rescue dog - we are not haveing a puppy - to name down with one breeder, going to visit another...... and dd has a list of names.
Puddles (as we call her - the cat from next dr), as started to make herself at home wonders into the house as thou she owns it, and comes in + curls herself up on the setee!!
Shes a shy cat, if you go to tickle her, it has to be on her terms, in a week she has us wrapped round her little finger......:rotfl:xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Bit better here today, dd chirped up, mums bday 2mor, bit hard as she always shared her bday cake with Whisky.
Me had a no-spend day..... thou have to confess... I was flat on my back, think I was a bit to energetic with the present wrapping.......
Next brain box idea - write the bday cards. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
