Well done on the loan M21, the set payment and interest rate should help much better than 39.9 :j0

Hi mum2one - congratulations - sounds like you've made a well judged decision there.
Fab on the orient express and how much you saved - can't believe the value in points when they're not used as direct money in the store - such a difference!!!
Lovely idea for the caravan with mum too, how fab!!
xLBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Good news got my trip on Orient Express sorted going with my Aunt, redeemed some Sainsburys points equivalent of £15 if we used in store, but it saved us £138.00 for the 2 of us, (was £195 each now £252, £127 each, and my Aunt and Uncle paying half my ticket as a thank you for takeing her, so very exicted, and another one on my 40 list being achieved.
Great news :j
Taking mum down Devon half term with dd, give her a break, and hopefully the sea air and the fact that were in a caravan she hasnt got far to move, help her.
Hope weather stays good and you all have a great time:j0 -

A news update from beautiful sunny Devon, even thou it was bank hol mon the weather was fab, even went paddling in the sea with dd, thou must admit I looked a site, with the crutches holding me up.
On the not so good front, mum had an accident, not sure whether it was another mini stroke or a turn, one minute she is stood behind me at the cashpoint, next minutes shes flat on her back, on the floor, this poor man she fell into his car, one of her crutches had broke, so that was Sunday afternoon at the local hosp, just a few scrapes on her arm and new pr of crutches......
I'm sure I'm going to have to write a book with all my incidents.........
Dads on mother sitting duties, so dd and me come out to the club, shes in her element, she loves in down here, weve got friends down here, so gd 4 her.... and I have been asked out for a drink later in the week,,,,,,,,,, !! have said yes xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Re drink - his 1st suggestion was would I like to take the dogs together for a walk down this stretch by the locks!!
OK.........
The walk is 7 miles long.....
His dog is a little terrier who loves long walks, me, I have a 14yr old Springer who as you can imagine is an elderly gentleman and isnt allowed to walk far.... hes got a dodgy spine and hes overweight, refrained as very musclely for a spaniel the only walk he likes down here is from the caravan to the bar....
Me, crutches, and Whisky dont mix........
So we have settled for a quiet drink!!
Will keep updated! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Great to hear that you're having a good time.
Sorry to hear about mums accident.

A news update......... the date is on hold,
Weve been bit poorly between us, mum, dad,me had the trots on and off, luckly not all at the same time.
DD started with upset tum + sickness from Wed, threw up Thurs then brightened up, went out, not gd, she was poorly again, visit to Boots, come out with rehydration sachets.
So dd sleeps in my bed, fri still no better, rang local docs, they rang back, we were doing everything right keep an eye on her, by this morning she'd deterioted 100%, been up half ngt with her. Got hold of the out of hrs docs, got to give them their due they rang back within 5 mins. Can we take her to hospital she needs to be seen.... no probs local hosp only 1 mile where were staying.......... oh no.... wanted us to do 100 mile round trip to Plymouth hopsital...... busy Sat, holiday makers leaving, coast road, (big delays), and a 6 yr old child who couldnt even hold sip of water down.
Then suggested a nearer hosp 6 miles away, got there, bless her she threw up while she was there........(as if on cue), apparently we'd been doing everything right, but due to how poorly she was, she was 1 step away from being admitted to another hopsital with dehydration and a drip.
We were given a 6hr leaway, that if we could get fluid pumped into her, + she went to the loo + could hold fluid down, if not it was going to be an ambulance job.
For a little un so poorly it was a nightmare, everytime she drank, she was poorly, sent dad on 24 mile round trip through deep countryside to avoid coast road, as she only wanted Tesco's Orange kids water....... Thank god she managed to keep some down, but she was stubborn, it broke my heart as part of me wanted to let her sleep and be, but obviously sensible side was try + pump liquid down here, she was getting upset, I was trying not to panic, and ended up shouting that if she didnt drink she'd be in hospital and she doesnt realise how lucky she was this morning she wasn't admitted to hospital, then burst into tears, shes answers back, then why the hell did you have me, you'd be better off without me. Then she burst into tears, and then hugged me for England, shes only six, and just wanted to take her pain away.
I ended up in a pitch, she said sorry, it was because she was in so much pain, its just broke my heart, shes got a guardain angel, (sure its my sister), the 6hr slot, i'd managed to get small bottle of water down her, and she kept most of it down.
Guess were being over protected but said we'd split the night between us, so one of us is on guard. Touch wood shes over the worst, but I'm just so glad to have this thread, can talk and get things off my chest, I know were over the worst, and fingers crossed get a gd ngt and she can start on toast in the morning.
Certainly be fun monday morning, when ring the school and say dd not in, so fingers crossed.
Apologies for babbling on, needed to off load.. Thank you all thou in advance xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
