    Xmas Saver!
Did extremely well 2ngt, went late ngt shopping took dd to see lights and dad (needed a bg carrier)

    Positive spends-
School clothes for dd for next yr, 3 skirts, 3 dresses, pr trs grand total £11.00 in sale at Woolworths
Got some more nick nacks for dds stocking, so cute rVed leather heart purse, reduced to 19p, make up bag from £3.99 to 50p
Bratz phone for parents xmas present- I always get something useful for the house for xmas prezzies, and we needed cheap phone with numbers on base. Its purple (mums fav colour), and shes plzed go her side of the bed. When we had the rewiring done, had to have socket on outside wall, so dad bless him (hes 70), is sporting a pink phone with fluffy bits all over it.

Negative spend.....(dad did all the bag carrying), so treated us to coffee and cakes at Cafe Nero £8.40......... but its a one off soshouldnt really beat myself up.

Next plan of action, redo snowball with Decembers credit card statements and neva know might save a £1 or so. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Great positive thread!!!...great savings tonight as well. You have exactly the right attitude to do this.
You know the only reason to look at your SOA is to help you work out which debts may be best to pay off first and if we can help you save any money on your main bills.
Your plan of action looks good anyway and I'm so glad that your horrible neighbours have gone.Good luck.We are all here for you x

Im single mum, before all the single mum bashers come out of the closet, I walked out on a voilent and abusive relationship when I was 7 mths gone.

    Hi

We do not do single mum bashing on here, if only becasue a lot of us have been there in one way or another.

I am really amazed at your determination to tackle this sort of debt on your current income.

A few thoughts on things, although you may have already got these in place.

    1. Any bank charges to reclaim (or CC or catalogue or loan). As a "hardship" case, they are required to cough up even thoguht the court case is outstanding.

    2. PPI on anything to reclaim?

Remember this applies to all accounts over the last 6 years, including those that are closed.

    3. Do you know about www.freecycle.org? Likew e-bay but you get the good for free?

Afraid to say been there done that brought the tshirt, had about 1.5k back from cards and banks, when the reclaiming 1st came to light, that went off debts. Got a claim in with main account, think its £350.00, but apparently I dont meet hardship needs, and the other thing is its my main account with the od so dont want to rock the boat.

Another good bargain, just got a free photo book, from www.photobox.com, was on link on the site if anyone wants one
    code is PP1285NOV

I ordered the small pocket one, meant that I could only use the normal photos (landscape), but paid for the postage as well so totally free.

Had some brilliant news 2ngt, my friend who came on the Orient Express with me, shes ,a deal with me, that if I can clear 4k off my debts by our 40th birthday (shes 40, 5 days b4 me), that as a 40th bday present shes going to take me to the Ritz for afternoon tea, as a birthday present. So with an incentive like that........watch this space. xx

  • Hi mum

Just wanted to say you are doing so well. Keep it up.

Been reading your "bottom bit" (I know that's not right - but can't think of what it's called.... "avatar"...? or something...?..sorry!!!) and reaching 40 is not that bad...honest!! I reached it 3 years ago. Ok, it does make you a bit forgetful and a bit mad but apart from that...
Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free :)
    Mortgage free since 2014 :)
