April Overpayments
Phoned First Direct this morning and the mortgage is:- £69,306.54
(I thought that it would be slightly less according to my spreadsheet)
April overpayments are:- £1,550.

Car is having an MOT today and won't be back until late this afternoon.
I have to pay for public transport (Day Saver type ticket £4) to get home.
Whilst going through all the cupboards and drawers at home, I've amassed a few more things that I think might fetch something on eBay.
Set myself a target of £125, and will put them all on tonight so that they finish on Sunday.
Also need to send 2 items back to Amazon (refund of £36), because they sent the wrong colour.0 -
The garage have just phoned and my car has passed the MOT. :j
Much better result than last year.
Only have to pay the £54 for the test.
Just another 1 hour trek to pick my car up.0 -

Thanks guys - You're both doing really well (I can see from your signatures) and I hope we can spur each other on.
Received a letter from EDF and we have a £22 credit on our electricity account (currently paying £38 monthly).
We are on a fix until June 2011 so I'll see how it goes over the next 3 months.
Yesterday I changed my Tesco Mobile monthly - 1 month rolling (staff tariff) to one that gives me more minutes for not much more money.
I now get 750 minutes and 5000 texts (who needs that?) for £11.25.
I wanted to keep my number and I was assured it would be a simple process that would take no more than 24 hours.
Today, my phone isn't receiving or making calls and I now have to wait until tomorrow before the techy guys at Customer Service can sort it out.
Quidco paid £12.59 on the 04/04 and it is showing on my account that the next payment will be £4.29.
I've had 2 NSD this week (because I've had a few lieu days) and don't return to work until Friday, so I'll try to make Thursday another NSD.
I've started reading another book on my Kindle, so I'll probably be wrapped up in it (and forget about everything else including spending money).0 -
Thursday was indeed a NSD.
It took until Saturday morning for my phone to be back to normal, but I they will be compensating me with extra minutes next month and a reduced payment.
Sold an old AV equipment stand on Sunday and the buyer paid cash (£75).
I am going to make an additional overpayment of £100 today, which will take the mortgage below £53K (only just, but it means it starts with a £52,XXX).
Looks like we will be at £50K at the end of June (30th) which will be the 5th anniversary of us moving into this house and taking out the loan.
We plan to go out for a nice meal to celebrate.
Listed 6 items on Sunday (2x old mobile phones, cabin case, Nintendo DS Lite and a few games).
I've sold both phones and the cabin case.
After fees and postage, I have £130 in my Paypal account.
I want to do a lot of listings today and get rid of every last bit of junk remaining (OH did a clear out of his cr*p and there are quite a few bits that might fetch something).
I've set my self a target of £500 in my Paypal account before I transfer it, which means I have £370 to go.
Only problem is the lovely weather is making it hard to focus on taking pictures of it all and writing up the listings.
I will have to force myself to do this, since I am back at work tomorrow and I will have less time on my hands.
Also got some housework (washing/vacuuming) to do and cook up a nice tasty Jamie Oliver 30 Minute Meal (fish dish) before OH gets home from work.
Quidco payment of £4.78 is on it's way.0 -
Well done on the e baying once again - and Yay to almost out of the 50's !!!RosieTiger - Highest £242,000 Feb 2004
Lightbulb Dec 2008 £146,000 by March 2026:eek:

Current Position-Fully off set by savings since March 20130 -
I now have £195 in my Paypal account from eBay purchases.
So I have another £305 (after fees) to make up to hit my £500 target..
I've still got another 30 bits of stuff to get rid off.
Several DS and Wii games, DVDs, footwear and clothing to offload.
Just sold an old Sky+ box for £15 and the buyer lives close to where I work, so he will be picking it up from there and paying cash.
I'm just waiting on 2 more cash buyers, who owe me £22, and I have another £177 of Buy It Now (or Best Offer) stuff listed.
I prefer BIN to auctions, so I include the Best Offer option, to give my goods a better chance of being shifted.
I placed an order for tickets for the 2012 Olympics in March, so I didn't get caught in the last minute rush/panic to buy tickets yesterday.
If I am lucky/unlucky the final bill will be £596 or less for the tickets I've chosen (Opening ceremony, Athletics including the Mens'100m heats and final).
I bought a (reduced price) Kenwood food processor from Argos on Monday and got £20 off the price with my Nectar points. :j
My old food processor isn't up to the task physically and aesthetically, since I have been doing a lot more home cooking and Jamie's 30 minute meals (got it down to about 40 minutes).

What lovely weather we have been experiencing (even in the North West).
I don't want it to end.
I have to go to work this afternoon, and although I wouldn't mind being paid at x2 rate, I've opted for 2 days off in lieu of pay, so that I can enjoy a few more days off (with nice weather -I hope).
I now have £278 in my Paypal account from eBay purchases and £15 cash.
£207 needed to hit my target.
Luckily one of the buyers is local and can drop it off on my way to work .
One buyer hasn't paid up (cheap mobile phone) so I have claimed my final value fee and will relist it tomorrow.
I relisted (and reduced the price) 3 items yesterday that didn't sell, and I have 3 items to post.
OH found out on Thursday that after the restructuring etc in his new job, he has been given a pay rise.
This works out to be be £200 per month net, and he will be giving me £100 of that for mortgage overpayments.
He currently drives to work and works at 2 sites, but will be based in the Manchester city centre from the summer.
In true MSE style, he is looking at cycling to work 3/4 times a week, because parking will be £5 a day.
Still on target to be sub £50K on the 5th anniversary of this mortgage (July 2011).0
