My MINI is due an MOT this month and the service indicator has lit up.
I have the TLC pakage so I won't have to pay for the service, but I'll still need to pay for the MOT. I have enough money in my cashback savings account to cover that.
The initial overpayment of £500 has been added to the mortgage account, and I am just waiting for the mortgage payment to hit before I update the MFiT-T2 challenge.0 -
My MINI is due an MOT this month and the service indicator has lit up.
The service indicator lit up to tell me that the MOT is due.
It does not need a service as well.
It's booked in for the 23rd March and will cost £54, which will be paid for from my cashback account.
Some money I transferred from my Paypal account (for eBay sales) has finally arrived in my current account, so I paid another £280 into the mortgage account today and updated my total for the first stage of the MFiT-T2 challenge.
I'm going to a free cinema preview this evening, which hasn't happened in a while.
The email arrived on Sunday afternoon and I noticed it straight away and I was able to secure 2 tickets for 'The Blind Side'.
Usually, there are no places left at my local cinema when I try to log on and get seats.
I'm looking forward to seeing Sandra Bullock in the movie that won her an Oscar.
Balance on 9th March 2010 (for MFiT-T2) = £76,850.31
Overpayments for March (for MFW 2010) = £780.000 -
Just got back from another midweek Forest Holiday break in Croprton, North Yorkshire.
It was a well earned break.
It was payday today and I finally received my mileage costs.
I paid in another £150 today, so the total overpayments for the month are £930.
I have a few more days holiday left, so I think that I will supervise the OH while he gets some DIY jobs done around the house.
I need to re-list a few items on eBay and add a few other items this weekend.
Hopefully, I can generate another £100 before the end of the month.
Recently exchanged some Clubcard vouchers for Airmiles and I am waiting for them to be doubled up so that I can book some flights to the US for later on this year.0 -
I've finally got round to selling my dad's old car.
He now spends most of the year abroad and he left his car with us last December, and it has just been taking up space on the driveway for the last 3 months.
He has said we can have £1,000 from the proceeds of the sale.
He's not very good at getting bargains, because when he bought this car in 2007, the dealer wanted him to trade his old car (which was worth about £8,000 privately sold) for £5,600.
Luckily, my dad phoned me from the dealership before he signed on the dotted line and asked me what I thought.
After a 30 minute chat (loose description) with the sales executive who was trying to rip off my dad, I managed to get the trade-in figure upped to £7,250.
I've got to shell out for a second key which is going to cost about £250 in total, but I'll take that out of dad's cut when it's sold.
I put a 3 week ad in Autotrader (and online) yesterday evening and I've already had 12 calls today.
Some enquirers are taking the p**s with their offers.
Currently, we want £10,000 ono and we've had offers ranging from £8,500 to £9,250 so far.0 -

Quidco cashback of £44.54 has been paid. :j
Sold a briefcase, PDA and some DVDs and CDs in the last few days.
There is £165 in Paypal account (after fees and postage).
I'll transfer that money to mortgage account after the buyers have confirmed receipt and left feedback.
I'm going to list a few more DVDs, CDs and shoes later today.0 -
I made the first overpayment (£500) for April yesterday.
This month should see the daily interest go below a tenner. :j
If I can overpay by more than £940 this month, I will be able to add another piece to the jigsaw puzzle on the fridge.
I've got a few more things to sell on eBay and some overtime due in my pay later this month, so that should help keep me on track.
Still no sale of dad's car but a lot of interest and viewings planned for this weekend.
I just want to sell it and get my cut, but obviously don't want to give it away.0 -

My car failed its MOT.
Number plates need replacing
Both front wipers smearing and need replacing
Number plate bulb needs replacing
OSF tyre has cut in excess of requirements and needs replacing.
Recommendations (Amber)
Engine oil needs topping up.
Front brake pads are low.
NSF tyre low tread
The dealer wanted to charge me a total of £645 assuring me that I would have it back at the end of the day fully roadworthy and with an MOT certificate.
I almost went ahead, because I thought it be lot of hassle to do everything myself, but when I told my husband that they wanted £140 for a bulb, windscreen wipers, number plates and engine oil, he nearly hit the roof.
He said it wasn't that difficult and that I could do it all myself a lot cheaper.
He was right.
I went to a local car spares shop and got the bulb, number plates and wiper blades for £32.
Bought the oil from Halfords for £15 (because the shop didn't have it and the guy recommended them).
I've ordered 2 front tyres from Blackcircles.com for £269 and they will be fitted on Thursday morning.
Front brake pads are low and will need replacing in the near future, so I don't know whether to wait a bit longer before changing or get them done now.
Without the brake pads the bill is £316 (with £240 being funded from my cashback savings account).
Luckily, I worked Easter Monday and a Sunday two weeks ago, so there will be a bit extra in my next pay on the 16th.
On the mortgage front, I paid in an extra £300 on Saturday, so the overpayments so far this month are £800.0
