Not quite daily update!
Haven’t been around for a few days, seem to have tweaked my back, think it is a reaction to work stress’ and I’m so tired all the time.
The good news – ready for it??
My credit card total is 19,852.93 – sub 20K :j
…and the A&L card is 1,853.37 – sub 2K :j Last month I paid 526.06 off it!! The shocking bit is that the minimum payment would have only taken 15.59 off the total.
I managed to do this through a lot of nsd, about 22 of them, not having to pay the council tax for the month and tight budgeting on the grocery front. It is unlikely that I will be able to repeat the performance this month, but I’ll give it a go. I so want to clear this card and never see MBNA written anywhere on a statement again. Can almost start thinking about the Natwest card....
Had forgotten about the vet bill and got a reminder, so I’m paying that now by cheque – 96.34
Also had the new council tax and water rates in for this year, and they’ve gone up! Now there’s a surprise, the wages are not going up, so overall disposable income for throwing at debt is going down…:cry:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

How did the lesson go ?
Sorry hamster, have tweaked my back and been so very tired!
The lesson was interesting in a scary sort of way. The Captain doesn't feel he needs any instruction and the important bit is to do everything very fast and make sure everyone's looking at him! No amount of being told by the instructor to check him made any difference to his speed and enthusiasm, he catapulted over trot poles, belted round corners, disengaged his brakes and had a splendid time!
In the end the instructor got on and realised how enthusiastic he actually is  ie, she couldn't slow him down either :rotfl:She is going to put a cunning plan together and we are going to start tackling him next weekend! She feels he has the ability to become a dressage horse

Think I'm sorted now, thanks. Hope the back is easing. Feel free to dump away, if you can't dump on your own thread where can you dump?
Can you recommend any good natural horsemanship books to read? I wonder as I only see my boy a couple of times a week if it work but I am interested in the theory.

The overpayments will get smaller as the utility bills get larger. Absolutely dreading the gas bill....it's been on far more than previous years because of the cold winter. Do you think the gas people knew and stuck their prices right up into the stratosphere.... bringing them down now Spring's around the corner...:rolleyes:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Piquant - a cheery thought - you have paid off more of your card than you have left to pay - you are over half way on it -well done you! I lurk on your thread for a chuckle, yes but also to see how well you are doing while also managing to run an uncooperative beast and all that. Sometimes we all need a moan and I think it would hardly be out of order on your very own thread if you feel the need.
Look how far you've come :A
PS: DH loves Joanna Lumley

I hadn't thought of that! I have paid off a lot, haven't I? and at 34.9% that certainly makes it a harder chore!
...and I love the term 'uncooperative beast' sums him up. Although in his defence he is picking up from me and is probably confused!
Thanks for the nice things you've said, you have made me feel a bit more optimistic! Keep telling me I am buying my way to freedom....once the debts are cleared, I can do anything I want!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
