  • Well done - I really do need to get my head out of the sand and sort my bad one, they phoned me and I agreed a minimum about a year ago when I got into a mess and defaulted.

They are so bleeping unhelpful, mind you egg was terrible to sort out - didn't matter how much I phoned to sort something out they just wouldnt do anything about my sitation.

Saving 9 years of interest is brilliant.

nerves of steel right enough well done you lady!!

It's almost criminal isn't it? I can't get and 0% deals, I've tried. That's why amongst the mayhem and silliness of this thread you will notice an undercurrent of steel. I will see the back of it this year and then I'll start sorting out the rest.

I try not to let it drag me down, I'm always afraid if I hit bottom I may not be able to bounce back.

I shall come and see you on your thread and give your challenge a go!

  • Hi to all DFW,
A few months ago I was in a similiar situation to many people in the forums, juggling one debt to pay another and not sleeping over the worry of it. I signed up to a management plan which has been running since September and this last few weeks has been bliss! no phone calls or letters. Unfortunatley I only joined this site a few weeks ago but I cannot express how it has changed my life. Firstly, I am not alone! When you are in debt you feel guilt and shame, but the people on here have helped me to relax about that. Also the advice in the forum has been invaluable. This month for the first time instead of paying nearly £200 pound in bank charges, I am actually in credit going into next month!! I really looked at what I was spending and what I was spending it on. I realised I was spending nearly £15 a week on lunches at work alone..Needless to say I take a packed lunch now. Previouslyfive and ten pound notes were wasted wantonly-not anymore. I have learned so much about saving money and managing within a budget from the people here that I only wish I had this knowledge many years ago. My dmp will take 7 years, but I am hoping to have a 'slush fund' where I put a few pound a month away, so as to be able to bring the date forward.
Please all carry on the good work, supporting others and offering invaluable advice. I will keep you updated as to how I get on.

    Evenin' Mrs A!

Work was really depressing, no-one wants to be there, there is an air of back-stabbing gloom. More difficult after the snow day yesterday, I think!

I, of course, am doubly cheesed off at having lost my spreadsheet. I recreated the basics and got the correct end figure, if you consider a small figure the correct one! Now I need to tart it up and put on all the extra bits, that'll be another couple of lunchtimes taken care of.

Worried about hamster running about with no clothes on, it's obviously got to him! Have you seen him?
