It is odd isn't it, can't understand it. I've heard wine is a preservative and keeps you young. After all, fruit left in the fruit bowl goes mouldy very quickly, but if it's steeped in alcohol it keeps forever. See Poire William as a great example of my thinking.....:D

  • Hello Piquant,

I hope it is OK for me to gatecrash the thread. I am a newbie and reading as much as is humanly possible on the board and learning loads.
I too am a horsey lady - I had to sell mine in January because of finances and I am in a pretty awful financial position too but am feeling a lot more comfortable about it when I see I am not alone.
Similar to you, a lot of my debt problems began with a medical problem. Mine was having to pay for an operation on my spine to remove a fractured vertebra that had caused me suicidal back pain for many years and was diagnosed as "wear and tear" here in the UK. I had been a serious dressage rider for some years and the doctors blamed that as the cause for my pain.
Only when I moved abroad to work was it noticed by a GP - I was becoming increasingly "lame" when I walked - the sciatic nerve was slowly being severed and she sent me straight to a neurosurgeon who arranged an MRI and operated within a week. Apparently I would have been in a wheelchair within 3 months if I hadn't had the op. Unfortunately I had to pay and although it was a fraction of the cost here in the UK and I am now pain free and "sound" I was and am completely broke.
I am so pleased that you are committed to keeping your horse - they are the most wonderful creatures and such a source of comfort when the going gets rough. I love reading your posts and look forward to the diary entries.
You have made me smile today....... :T

    Hello Rog

Good to see you again, I've shared my thinking about staying young and using alcohol in another post. A glass of wine is a much cheaper alternative to a pot of moisturiser....that doesn't work anyway...

Luckily the date is tomorrow, couldn't cope tonight

I have to be honest, I haven't paid since he reappeared back in my life asking to come home. I told him straight off that I was more than broke and he said he would pay for all dates just to see me again....

You can't hear or see me but I just went "awwwww!! thats so sweet" and then realised I'd have to type it cause you can't actually see me.

Well, tomorrow I can wish you luck again.HSgoodluck.gif
