El, your back sounds really painful. Did you buy a special type of mattress for OH's back?
Maybe you need to try putting a folded duvet under the bottom sheet to make it a little softer.
Miss Twit has had her GHDs for 3 years now and they are good, just not working. i must research about getting them mended.

it might work out cheaper than buying a new pair ...i have been told they are very expensive...

we got one of those mouled thingy bobs like a tempur mattress for hubby's back he is fine feels great almost ...his back pain is alot better ..however mine is bad now ..it's actually very funny to be honest ..well i find it funny... hubby has been in agony for a long long time now and has missed alot of work this year (atleast he get's paid) so we decided to go buy a new mattress to see if that would help...it seems to work for him ...however i am in agony...cant have it all i spose lol

We bought a new mattress, with a memory foam topper. It did take some getting used to, I still feel that I have to climb out of my 'divot' in a morning.

It looks as though I can buy a cable for the GHDs for less than £10 and there is a youtube guide to fitting it :D

I couldn't cope with the moulded pillow, I went back to my snuggly feather ones.
