The only thing "Ford" about the Mazda 6 was the money to pay for it's development. The Mazda 6 and Ford Mondeo share no major parts at all. The Mazda 3 and Ford Focus however are based onthe same platform.My other thought was Mazda 6, as these are Mondeos, in disguise, to quite an extent, also. But seems the diesel to be somewhat fragile, at miles.
Definately stick with a petrol Mazda 6 for £4K those early diesels aren't worth it as fuel economy isn't that great, servicing is more expensive and they do have reliability issues.0
