Phones4U Problem!

Does anyone know if there's any difference in your rights in the future, or how you handle your phone compared to signing up normally with the network provider, for example Orange?
I'm just worried that I'll go to Phones4U and do the upgrade on Orange, with my same contract, get the phone and something'll go wrong and I'll be bounced between the two of them.
Thanks.
Sorry for the extremely late reply! I don't know how much use this will be to you now as you may have already gone through with it/decided against it.
I've been led to understand that Orange are only responsible for the contract. Anything regarding the phone should be handled by Phones4U. On the other hand, if something were to go wrong (touch wood), I can imagine responsibility would quite likely be bounced back and forth between the two.
However, seeing as you're upgrading, your situation might be slightly different. This is my first time on contract so I don't really know anything about upgrading. Was your previous phone/deal from Phones4U or directly from Orange?0 -
I've only been with Orange directly before. I've been very wary of third-party dealers but since the networks have been tightening their belt and treating existing customers poorly I was considering Phones4U since they actually had the phone I wanted SIM free.
However I went in to ask them if I could get it for free, like a new customer could, but via an upgrade and they first said yes then said no because apparently the contract I'm on is promotional, so it'll be more costly when I renew... bit silly really.
It seems the only way to get a decent deal is to either threaten to leave or leave and rejoin.0
