I certainly didn't think when I joined at 16 that i would have done things just like that.....but I can assure you it has made me a better man for it....the things that can worry alot of people just don't worry me anymore
What part of the armed forces are you in?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Mitch your sig is almost certainly inaccurate.
If you were to try and actualy achieve a sale right now you would surely find the true price to be at best the price in Q1 2007.0 -
indeed... we still far better off than east..
Yes - and that illustrates the problem.
As a society we are doing too little real productive work to justify our higher standard of living whilst the people of the East have been working their butts off and living in relative poverty.
Indeed, since the Chinese (and the Arabs with their oil money) have been supporting the US Dollar you could say that the people of the east haven't just been working themselves to the bone, they've loaned the West a lot of their savings too to enable our lifestyle, up til now.
There will have to be a process of Wealth realignment and I think it's just begun.--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -

Suffice to say, I have a nest egg to fall back on, but having been unemployed in the past for 6 months and not touched it, I'd like to think that I can do it again should I need to.
Of course I have a contingency fund anyway from my 16K savings to tide me over for a couple of months.
Just watch out you don't get burned when deflation turns to strong inflation. It's pretty clear that the government is eyeing up all that cash that savers have and want to get their hands on some of it.--

you might be wrong ther Conrad, aberdeen has been booming along with oil money, tho its debatable how long that can continue now the oil prices have tumbled.0 -

Sadly thats where we (soldiers) get drawn into something that has nothing to do with us......I just hope that it will never come to that.If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

This whole training theory to me is just hot wind. I have often looked at courses but would have no idea what to actually train for because how would you know what jobs there would be at the end of it, that would be in an areas you'd live in - and you'd stand a chance of getting them. Not only that many people are retraining as a teacher or in the healthcare professions or thinking about it. I know of qualified, experienced individuals struggling to find jobs / move up the ladder and this will only be exacerbated as those in seemingly less secure jobs are laid off....
Especially as so many jobs these days insist on a degree.
I have decided therefore I am trained enough and all I need is a job.0
