Thanks OP, my mum has me tortured asking me about coal and I know nothing about prices (I'd love an open fire though!)

Thanks for the posts, i live in the Ahoghill area so i will definitely be getting some of that!

And i am one of the people looking for "cheap coal", i am in a HE house and i have no oil heating, just an open fire. Not all of us are lucky to have choices...

Would agree but still doesn't change the fact that your wasting your money due to the inefficiency of it. and as far as High Horse goes... was never on one... Just pointing out the facts..

Wouldn't call myself "Lucky" just because I live in a house with central heating (Oh and an open fire too which I can use if I feel the need).. I call it working hard for what I have..

I went to a place on Whitesides corner but the coal is £7 for a smaller bag and logs and peat is £2.50 a bag.

Am i missing something?

It was absoluteutopia who originally posted about the place at Whitesides Corner but they haven't been back to this thread as far as I can see. Would be a shame if it's a wild goose chase as would have saved us a bit of money - we like to have the fire roaring away over Christmas.
