we had some snow but not a huge amount, i set off for work but decided i didn't want to sit in traffic on the A14 when i could come home and work from here. Had to take OH to work so ended up going into the station, at at least it was close to home. Just got to go back and pick up OH for 8pm tonight. Can't remember if is said, but i've managed to draw my first amount from the scratch cards yay!

  • Good morning, taxi:hello:

I always read your diary as you have such an upbeat attitude despite some pretty hard knocks recently, so I'm just popping in to see if you are OK today. I love reading people's diaries, they are an inspiration to me in lots of different ways, but I rarely post anything myself:o

I recall someone (and I'm almost sure it was you) saying several months ago, maybe on your previous diary which I also read avidly but never posted on:rolleyes: that you were a bit worried about starting a dairy because you didn't think what you had to say was interesting and you thought no-one would post anything back. If people are anything like me they'll be really interested in the frugal efforts going on in taxiland but maybe are too idle/diffident to respond by posting anything in response. I'm saying this because your diary is still short as far as 'pages' go and I notice you don't always post for days at a time. Please don't get discouraged as I'm sure there are lots of well-wishers out here all rooting for you:beer: . I'll make a point of posting on here more often from now on too.

Are you and hubby working again now and is the taxi busy because of the cold weather? People still want/need to go out and are probably too scared in lots of cases to risk driving themselves when the roads are dangerous. I hope its all been good for you and Mr taxi, but please take care. There are still plenty of idiots out there who should never be allowed behind a wheel at any time let alone in icy/foggy/snowy weather:eek:

Hi all...didn't post yesterday as nothing to report really.
Welcome carbootcrazy...post as often as you like as all are welcome in here.We are back at work but jan and feb are always quiet months without a recession. We have lost out on a lot of the older passengers as well since the councils gave pensioners free bus passes. The roads have been ok here as we haven't had any snow so no extra customers.I agree about plenty of idiots on the roads and that they are bad enough in good weather let alone bad weather hence if we ever had serious snow the taxi wouldn't be out on the road as it's too risky to be written off...luckily being on the coast I've only ever know snow stick once here and that was a lot of years ago...
I normally post everyday but was on holiday for two weeks in january.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
