Good find, hypno - and walshy, I'm sorry to hear about the job news. Write down those insights now - you *think* you'll remember them, but you never do (um, *I* never do).

I'm off for a few days, to my mum's - I just know I'm going to come back to a marathon read, but here's hoping everybody is healthy and happy soon ....

Another week is coming to a close - 2 weeks before I go skiing.......just can't wait!

OH has been paid today, thankfully, so it means I can check out the numbers for April - I have still got DS school trip's final instalment to pay, but I am hoping that if we are careful we will all be ok for the month.

We also get the last of the student money this month, which means that £512 won't be coming to me any more after mid-april.......I would really like to be able to manage without a student in the next school year, but it is a lot of money we would be losing out on, and so I will have to work things through very carefully before I make that decision once and for all.

If I could be rid of one of the bigger loans, which are over £400 a month, that would go a long way towards balancing out the lack of student money, so I really do need to focus on doing that......

Hope you all have a good day. 10p from scratchies, and did one dooyoo review done last night - working towards my next payout now.

KC, have a good break with your mum.

    morning hypno
the balancing act is never easy..
we just went through the same thing wth oh going back to work,,
part time v full-time v loss of benefits
we went with part time 26hrs and benefits which make us €50 a week worse off and a little tight ,,,,but means shes here 3days one wk and 3.5 the next.
    which helps me ,,
our biggest worry was whether id cope with the kids and the pain..
    (just about doing that)
but could i do 5 full days i doubt it as i need recovery time
also it would be be gain €860 a month but lose €650,
the combination don't really add up,,
maybe if i could find good pain relieve then we could improve things,,

in your situaion how meny years have you had a studdent lodger??
1 more year prob wont make that much difference to you
but would £400 a month not make a big hole in the depts....
remember its about cutting out dept not income..

    BAAAARRRRRRRRRRKING er insanely so :o
  • Oh wise one Shaun ;) Maybe you should become a counsellor???? How true that it is about clearing the debt. A student would start in Sept and be gone by June 2010? That would be timed perfectly to when you were expecting to be debt free anyway.

Hi to all, have a good Friday! Walshy keep your chin up - you went for a job at an oil company - if it was a certain one in Canary Wharf and was in HR - it fits perfectly time wise to the job my sister left - be thankful you didn't get it from what I heard!

We have had a student for the last 5 years - so ever since the children were 8 and 9.........and I want my house back for a while!

DD is doing her GCSEs next year and has been put in the box room in order that the student can have space - but DD has no room to study, and ends up sat on the floor with her books on her bed etc. I would love her to have a bit more space for a desk and a chair etc.

It would be nice to be "just us" for a change though...........
