I quite fancied doing the moonwalk, but never did anything about it!
I have just geared myself up for a mega crap feeling - I decided to apply for the Virgin 0% card......to see if I could balance transfer some of my 24.9% loans.......given that I have a decent income, good credit rating and much reduced debt since I last applied for anything like that over a year ago....
.....and the computer says No.
What on earth do I have to do to get a decent rate of interest! I really really don't know any more. I don't think I will ever satisfy whatever criteria they decide to apply to my applications.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. I'm just a bit !!!!!! off that no matter what I do, I can't seem to get a decent rate of interest......I know people with far worse situations than I am in who can get decent balance transfer rates!

it does seem odd Hypno, maybe there is some sort of upper limit these days for CC debt? or they realise yours is going down and you won't be paying them any interest?Mortgage OP 2025 £6750/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

It might be just that your criteria has become virtually perfect at a very bad time when they are turning down many more for 0% offers due to the credit crunch and their own fears for the company/future?
Maybe its the amount you asked for that was too much?0 -
I didn't ask for a particular amount - just thought I would see what they would offer.....so it can't be that I asked for too much!

I have to agree with Beanilou about writing to them. With one of your superduper letters I am sure you will get a full explanation and knowing you also some flowers or wine :cool:0

Hi Hypno...think you'll find it's the amount of debt you've already got. They look into that a lot now.I got turned down for a 0% the other month and have always had a perfect credit score..so I wouldn't take it too personally.0

Hi Hypno, I was reading somebody else's thread and they had been turned down to. She knew somebody who worked for Virgin and apparently 40% of applications are turned down, just because. HTH

Could it be because you haven't got any active creditcards / creditcards with balances on ?
Does that make sense ?
A (debt free) friend of mine, has only got one creditcard, which she pays off every month, she's paid off her mortgage, so in effect has no credit history, she applied for a new card last year & was refused.Don't Take Life too Seriously - Nobody gets out alive :rotfl:0
