I reckon that a couple of weeks and fun and sunshine (there's enough for everyone) is what I need right now......

The sad thing is that I will probably wake at 2am singing it........I will not be impressed with myself at that point!

He didn't even know what the cooling off period was or anything......! But as he was giving me all this threatening stuff I just kept thinking "keep going, you are going to regret this"!!!

I quite hope the head office ring me to follow up my report.........now that would be fun!

Oooh yes please! With any luck he will get slammed for poor customer service!

Club Tropicana is a lot better than Stress City, which is where you started .... and oh my word, that gym bloke won't know what's hit him. What a plonker (sorry, its the diary title).

Nearly every gym you sign up to has a 12 month minimum contract and you have to give 3 months notice to quit..you never used to get a 7 day cooling off period either as you had approached them and they usually send debt collectors for the money...so perhaps he was right but his attitude stunk.

Oh, I agree about the contract and the tie in etc, but to say straight up "if you cancel we send to you a debt collector" right at the beginning, was quite intimidating.

What he should have said was, "I'm very sorry but you have entered into a 12 month contract and the 14 day cooling off period has passed, so I am afraid that you are committed to the 12 month membership. The full amount will remain payable, either in full as a lump sum, or under the monthly payments you are already making, and of course you can continue using the gym - is there anything we can do to make your visit more enjoyable? Once the 12 months is up, you can cancel with 30 days notice. However, I should warn you that if you do cancel your direct debit before the 12 months, I am afraid Head Office are very strict with this, and if the outstanding amount is not paid, then they will refer the account to a debt collecting agency."

But then I suppose that is what being allocated a mystery shop like this is all about - identifying points that need attention, and this chap certainly needs some training about not using bully tactics.

Anyway, today is another day - working from the Bosses house today, so that will be nice :D

Scratchcards and banking beckon.........back in a bit, hope you have a good day xx

Exactly Hypno, hope that you get it sorted soon and well done on the bonus.

    Have a good day too
