**flakes out at the price of greenbee's little black number** !!!!

I have to admit paying for it was pretty stressful... but it did encourage me to claim my expenses (which will just about cover it :o ). Still based on the last one, cost per wear should end up pretty economical... (can you tell I'm still trying to convince myself??? If it hadn't been for work, I would have been able to go for something cheaper (ironically the less revealing things were more expensive, which isn't usually the case).

I was somewhat intimidated by the fact that the only other people in the shop were a minute (size 8) polish girl and her... um... sugar daddy...! I was a bit embarrassed by being two or three sizes larger - until the poor girl (after I'd wandered out in something that just about held my cleavage in) asked the assistant if she could do anything to make her boobs look bigger. I guess none of us are happy with what we've got.

Thanks for all the ideas... (and SarahS... yes I will make sure I can have a quick S&S to freshen up!) I have just realised that I have gold sparkly stuff that I can add to my daytime brown/beige eye makeup. If I make it a bit heavier round the socket and put gold on the edges it should work. And have remembered to find my grandma's black evening back with a pearl clasp. Will take my black coat to work, with a bright pink pashmina (in case I get cold... more than likely on a work do) and put my pink sheepskin boots in the car to keep my feet warm on the way home ;)

Flower, I have liked ironing before, I ironed everything, especially DSs nappies (were both in terry nappies mainly) but seen the light when I added up how many hours I spent doing it! Same goes for washing up. There is more to life!

How exactly do you get away with not washing up? Just keep reusing the same stuff and enjoy the mix of flavours? Or have disposable pots/pans/crockery/cutlery? I'd love to know... I hate washing up :rotfl:

Dishwasher :rotfl: When we're away with the caravan I will admit to using disposables sometimes (paper), make the kids use the same cup for juice. One pot meals aswell, chopping board I do veg then meats using one knife, turn it over after veg if totally necessary. When I bake I make loads of the same thing and freeze it, same applies for meals like a veg lasagne, aswell as it being more economical using all the veg at once. Soaking 2 large dishes at once for say 12 portions or more is better than washing them every night, slow cooker is perfect for this, I have a 6.5 litre MR one which makes over a dozen portions of chilli/soup/stew. If I make a sandwich I don't use a plate. I use the same coffee mug rinsed a little all day as soon as it's finished.

As for the frock, I am sure when you put it on you will feel a million dollars and it'll be worth it.

Apart from the occasional use of the disposables, I'm sure that your washing up solutions can be justified as green as well as [STRIKE]lazy [/STRIKE]time efficient ;)
  • Hi all

thought I would slip back in and post what I had done. I know no one noticed me coming back this morning on page 8 - which isn't a suprize cos I am sure the min I posted about 5 others did at the same time *chuckles*. GOD you girls know how to chat!

    Ok, my daily list
[STRIKE]Spray shower and curtain with bleach spray[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]feed cat at least twice cat.gif[/STRIKE]
file 10 peices of paper from desk
    [STRIKE]Spend an hour doing reviews
    [/STRIKE]
spend 30 mins sorting photos for reviews
read and delete 10 emails at least

    Extras:
    [STRIKE]choose wallpaper
    [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]ask OH to go buy wallpaper when chosen[/STRIKE]
    tidy bathroom windowsill
    Sort out chequebook
Sort and throw out all those 'gadget' catalogues I have piled by the bed. (catalogue !!!!!!..rotfl.gif)
    [STRIKE]Dust TV and phone tv.gif[/STRIKE]
Throw 3 more items out of 'ratsnest' box under desk - Hmmm made a start but nothing actually dumped.

Hope you all had a great day!!

    hugs

I recycle the paper plates and plastic cups :p so as green as I can be! Apart from the occasional plate used as a fire lighter to save burning paper. If we have a BBQ I tend to do the same especially if entertaining children. It's mainly when we're without Electric Hook Up I use them to save on gas heating water up aswell as being lazy. Noone else washes up so it's a break for me from at least one task.

Right going to leave these 2 playing on the PS3 and get myself to bed, new games, boys with toys!

    Night night all x

  • it will take a little while for your system to adjust to the smaller helpings - what about crackers and a little cheese just now or some fruit or toast?
    toots xx

Isn't cheese bad for you before bed? I know my mum used to say it gives you nightmares, but I'm sure there's a more 'practical' reason for it (for the life of me I can't remember what!)

Any thoughts/suggestions before I finally give up and go to bed would be welcomed!

I love the dress greenbee - too late now for a comment as you've probably already left for work, but any of the suggestions you mentioned sound wonderful, although if going for grey shoes, I would wear barely black tights rather than sheer black as it is a bit softer with the grey... Have a fab time and remember everyone else is going straight from work, and some of them you will be able to tell! I'm sure you will look as fresh as a daisy...:D

Not sure if I'm at work or not today - waiting for a call... So going to finish that paperwork this morning and see how I get on, hopefully a full day cleaning today as house is in need (have just put blinkers on and got on with paperwork for 2 days - scared to take them off now... )

    Morning all

Lady-Liberty - best of luck for your appointment this afternoon - I'll be thinking of you.
Greenbee - I agree with Lil-me about the cost of the frock, but it is lovely. I'd wear pearls - do have a lovely evening.
Mudbath - Have a really, really, happy birthday! :bdaycake:

Day two at the old site and desk two. I wonder if I'll get to do any real work today? It's really cold here this morning. My central heating boiler is in a little outside cupboard thing and it's quite clever in that if it thinks it's getting cold enough to freeze the pipes, it'll turn itself on a little bit to warm up. It did that twice in the night. So, icey roads again I suspect - but I'll take it easy.

    Have a lovely day people
