Eternity ring for birth of 1st child?

Hi
I think it's a lovely idea. My husband bought me an eternity ring when our first born was born. Yes we had done the engagement, wedding etc but that was our choice.
All I would say is that make sure your OH knows that it is not an engagement ring before she opens it or you may not get the response you were hoping for. The other thing to think about is timing. Her hormones will be all over the place for quite a while after. Anywhere between day 3 and day 5 she will probably have melt down.
It may be that you feel beforehand might be a good idea, she could then wear it on a chain until her fingers go back to normal size or just on a different finger.
Good luck and enjoy0 -
I had my eternity ring for our first wedding anniversary. I think that I would favour the idea, in the OPs situation, of a piece of jewellery other than a ring ( e.g.bracelet or necklace).0

I think its a lovely idea I had one after my first child. I have been married 33 years but marriage is not for everyone. I think the ring will show commitment in the way that is right for them.

I have an eternity ring but we're not married or engaged.... I have been engaged before and I had an eternity ring to match my engagement ring.

Oh dear!
The wedding we would like will cost 20K. Money we don't have at the moment. But we still wanted to start a family together. Is this ok with you?
Dave, my partner and I are in the same situation, bought a house last year so cant afford to get married but want a family ASAP. I would love it if my partner got me an eternity ring for the birth of our first child, I think it's a thoughtful and romantic gift. It wouldn't bother me if we never get married, it's not going to make us love each other any more or any less.0 -
You cant afford to get married but you can afford a child????0

I have 12 brothers and sisters and 30 something nieces and nephews, the thousands spent on one day for these people alone would be better spent on building a home and financially stable family for my children in my opinion, although I'm sure you have an opinion on this too.0 -
You dont have to spend thousands on a wedding!:rotfl: Oh and kids cost money too you know?0

I thought you said it was because of the cost0
