Im not going to get in any sort of debate with you, we both have very different views, which is good,
The comps forum imo is a very heavy duty forum, hence there are 4 bg's, the inn was there way before i started comping off mse.
Each board has its on way and guidelines.
People are upset at how Diva was treated for just doing her normal bg duties, hence the comments.
This is an open forum and we are all entitled to post without prejudice.

I remember when we managed to acquire the compers inn:rolleyes: we went the right way about it because us compers wanted somewhere to chat without disrupting the competitions and didnt want to go in the 'arms; (even though it seems it is a lot nicer place than the house board) so its a bit like the arms where we chat about anything apart from competitions. Divadee is a lovely person who doesent deserve to be treated how some of you have treated her.
    to be updated:;)

The House Prices sub Forum was created JUST for us loons to be taken away from the general House Buying, Selling and Renting Forum though.... maybe it just needs to be a change of name in line with other names: House Price Inn?

Maybe any blame here needs to fall at the feet of the person who named it when they set it up. They should have called it an Inn.

It was created for "us" and "people like us" and we were all there, happy as Larry. And suddenly, one morning we woke up and found nearly every current discussion thread had been whipped away and they'd all been moved all over the place. To inappropriate places we felt.

Some very good points raised by both sides (eek that sounds rather war'ish, but couldn't think of any other way of putting it).

Someone has said that each board has different ways and the board guides know that - Divadee appears not to have understood our ways on the house price board in the majority view of the REGULAR posters on that board. That is not a slight at her intelligence or how good she is at being a BG by the way, it happens in life as well in areas we don't know so well as our main areas.

Topics will occasionally meander a little off topic, it happens everywhere but in the main, on the house price forum we did not allow it to go completely off topic very often (yes there would be odd posts but we didn't usually go off into msn like conversations).

The very fact that people have posted in the way they have, surely shows the strength of feeling that the removal of posts to other obscure parts was not quite right ..in the views of the regular posters on that board.

House prices and inherently linked to the economy whether people like it or not.....good economy with lots of confidence and easily obtained mortgages and people will buy, bad economy with people losing jobs and being unable to obtain mortgages, people will not buy but to actually make that decision we need the facts...again easily obtainable in the section which deals with house prices.

Some of us before we arrived on that board were confused by the various terms used, we had been able to ask for an explanation as we have seen the threads and one was usually given - I have learnt so much since April just by doing this, yesterday I learnt nothing apart from the fact that board guides are not moderators although they appear to have moderating permissions in being able to move threads.

Board guides generally do a very good job helping others by placing threads in the correct area to receive more responses to a query they may have - for example someone posting in the DFW board about obtaining a remortgage (or mortgage) when they are on a DMP, the board guide will in most cases, move the thread to the mortgage board where most the brokers post..in any case, a fair few responders to the thread will tell them to start a thread there anyway. Or another example is someone who is bankrupt (or thinking about it) posting on the house price thread about the process of going bankrupt, the board guide will quite rightly move the thread to the bankruptcy board to that the person can obtain the information...for this they have my upmost respect.

But we should be able to have recourse to complain/point out/challenge something which has upset the majority of the REGULAR contributors of that board, I know that we can contact the abuse team (which I still think is incorrect as they have enough to deal with, it should be a completely different department) on a point of forum tidying up which again the majority of the regular contributors disagree with and it should be something which can be sought and rectified/confirmed within a very short space of time (certainly the same day) so as to keep the boards and forums running smoothly and without ruffling so many feathers for so long.

I did actually recognise Divadee's name as I have used the competition boards but there have been so so many other names becoming involved in this disagreement that I have never seen before today and who (with respect here), would have no idea of the ways of the board (to borrow someone elses phrase from another board).

Surely the majority view of the REGULAR contributors (of which many have tried to give their point of view over) should be taken into account or if not, then other boards which have an area of general discussion (as someone else has mentioned, the comp board and general discussion), should also be subjected to the same actions....their threads moved to the moneysaving arms as we have been told, that is the ONLY area where those discussions are allowed to take place.

If a policy is in place, it should apply to EVERY board, not just the ones that some see fit.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The issue is I think the arbitrary decision to start doing so months down the line.

BTW, it's not only divadee, 'misskool' locked some of my threads too.

the threads were locked pending review by abuse. if they think it is relevant and not off-topic, it will be opened again.

I could have moved them to Discussion time but we already just had that row.

Hi Bulls & Bears (if you are still there),

There have been lots of appeals all over this forum asking for EDUCATION for consumers, preferably while they are still at school; but failing that to stop them being ripped off in later life, by the financial system.

A ghetto section headlined "House Prices" attracted lots of readers, a technique pioneered by a radio programme about farming techniques called "The Archers". The fans (and the people who loved to hate it) were absorbing the discussion, without even realising, certainly 99% of them would have switched off it was delivered as a lecture in the dismal Nobel prize science of Economics.

When we are born, we start making the BIG decisions; there is absolutely no point in getting the pennies right and making disastrously WRONG long term choices over the pounds.

Our first decision is to choose good parents to nurture us.
Decision two is to go to an effective inspiring school, backed up by encouragement and "golden time" from those parents.
Step three is to learn the value of money (Governments can print it, bankers can lend it several times but the ordinary punter must learn that when when it is spent it is spent, that is an opportunity cost.)
Then as an adult each citizen needs to consider the BIG money decisions: 1. How to earn a living to eat. 2. Where and how to seek somewhere to shelter. 3. The pros & cons of procreation. 4. How you will live in your twilight years.
Finally we all have to realise that the little heavily populated off shore island we call home, must live by the wits of its people; this means we must all be self reliant and outward looking. Retreating into our shell is not an option. The government is largely powerless it has no money, save that which we and the rest of the world are forced to give it or chose to lend it. If the carousel stopped revolving we would be bust within weeks.

So please please please can we have a section of the forum for this educational discussion, preferably linked to something serious and long term like the laws, provision and price of shelter.

I don't normally post such serious entries as this one. As they say of football, it is not a matter of life and death, this is much more important:eek:.

    Happy Christmas,

    Harry.

Plus, she went on to a completely unrelated board, and an utterly different topic (competitions!) to post about this, and whip up support.

Any compers want to show their support for Divadee by voting "No" in the poll on this thread:-

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...html?t=1339489

And instead of saying "no, that will fan the flames" the response from Divadee is:

aaww you guys have reduced me to tears now. i am honestly crying now.

to be honest if it wasnt for the comps board i would of given it up bynow, the hassle and carp you get sometimes make you realise its not worth it.

Did it work, by adding to the chaos? Yes, the very next poster said:

Divadee, i'm just off to read the thread cos I hadn't seen it. You know we all love ya and think your fab and do a great job though.

Then you get several posters (about 10 or so), who've never been on the house prices board before, voting "no" in the poll to "support" her.

Completely unprofessional. She should lose her BG status for that alone.
