Why have numerous relevant threads been moved to discussion time?

That competition thread I linked to was actually started by Divadee. She said in the first post:

Chat about anything and everything in this thread (at least it will keep the boards clean:D ) If some comper stuff comes into it that would be great :rotfl:

Keep proper comping discussions to the Competition Discussion Thread.

That seems quite hypocritical, to me. "chat about anything and everything"?

The threads have been moved not removed, and anyone who knows how the boards work knows that they can click on the divert link to reach the new location.

What's more, members of this forum are allowed to post on threads on any board they can see, so nobody has actually been deprived of any rights.

Fair enough, a lot to look at.

But this very BG herself is inviting off-topic threads, and posting off-topic messages, in the Competition board. Which seems more than a little like double-standards, to me.

sorry but ur referring to the compers inn, which isn't a competitions discussion threads, its an informal place for compers to chat,
and if i support divadee that is my perogative,
How is it stirring if some people agree with divadee?
I for 1 lurk on the Hp thread as im in the middle of buying my home.
Why can't u let this go till the admin make a decision?
Why go looking at other threads and peoples posts when they have no releveance but to cause more mayhem?

Hang on, that thread was full of people who know nothing about hte house price board, or care about it, shooting off to "vote" and "comment" in order precisely to cause mayhem!

That thread is off-topic. It's not about competitions, in the main. The opening post invites off-topic conversation. So how come that's OK on the competition board, and yet Divadee goes shooting off to the House Prices board moving everything in sight?

indeed, it is. And it is mine to point out that she has different rules for herself and others.

Which I think is the key point. The content of the OP doesn't always mean that the whole thread is about that. Some posts may be, but others are completely off topic - sometimes the majority.

When that happens, then off course the thread is at risk of being moved. But why blame the person who moves it, rather than the posters who have contributed to it going off topic? "

There is a lot to look at in the threads you have posted. Now I also have to look at other posts made by the BG under scrutiny :eek: .

I wonder what I would find if I had the time to examine other posts made by those who have - IMO - attacked the BG under scrutiny? Have you already done that, or have concentrated your efforts on the BG?

Im not going to get in any sort of debate with you, we both have very different views, which is good,
The comps forum imo is a very heavy duty forum, hence there are 4 bg's, the inn was there way before i started comping off mse.
Each board has its on way and guidelines.
People are upset at how Diva was treated for just doing her normal bg duties, hence the comments.
This is an open forum and we are all entitled to post without prejudice.

The issue is I think the arbitrary decision to start doing so months down the line.

BTW, it's not only divadee, 'misskool' locked some of my threads too.

I don't need to do that, because I already think that some posters went too far and were abusive.
