Nonsense. I have no personal issue with Divadee, indeed until today I had never even heard of her. I'm not interested in personally attacking anyone for moving a thread.
etc
I should clarify that my reply to your post wasn't just about what you had said. It encompassed my views on a number of other posts in this thread. I do believe that aspects of your post - and larger aspects of posts made by others - are attacking divadee. This should not be confused with a belief that you have a 'personal issue' with her. I do believe that calling someone a 'jobsworth' for example (not you, I know) is a personal attack.
I have looked at a number of the threads which were moved to DT. The one about the stockpiled cars had the potential to be a useful discussion about the economy (which - it could then be argued - was tangentially related to the discussion of house prices).
Given that many of the posts were of the ilk: 'I 'ad a 'onda once. Great car. Lots of dinky cup'older an' stuff', maybe the thread does sit better with twinbearing canines (innit)
The Jeremy Clarkson thread only had posts along the lines of 'Jezza - says wot 'e thinks don't 'e'.
The Gordon Brown commenting on Zimbabwe thread made no pretence at linking itself to house prices.
The 'Honda goes into administration thread' clearly marked itself 'OT'
The 'Shocker Alert' thread on BTL was more concerned with discussion about lack of foresight by BTL landlords, general social commentary, specific political critcisms and the ubiquitous personal insults. Granted, you could make a case for this thread being on the House Prices board, because of the BTL effect on house prices. Equally, you could make a case for it being on any board: Bankruptcy and Living with it (call it 'BTL buyers facing bankruptcy?); Moneysaving Oldstyle (call it 'BTL buyers feeling the pinch); and so on.
As for humiliation. Again, that refers to more than just your post. But, if you want to test the claim, why not invite divadee to stand up in a forum of your choosing, where she may be 'heard' by up to 400,000 of your peers, and where her words will be recorded indefinitely. Then listen to her tell them all that you are the wrong person to be doing your job. You may not feel humiliated. And neither of us know if divadee feels humilaited. My point is that the potential for humiliation exists under those circumstances. I note that you did not address the issue of divadee being subjected to public ridicule on this thread (and others).
If I came to see you, knowing you are FSA regulated, seeking your advice on my financial circumstances, with particular reference to house prices, then you are correct in saying that I would hope that your advice was informed a wider awareness of the issues.
However, if I came to see you under the above circumstances, and was told that you once had a particular type of car, it was a really good car, and it had all these little holders for your glass (and your dog's twins:rolleyes: ); and that Jeremy Clarkson - he says what he thinks; and some of the other things which have been said on the theads under discussioin...
I think I would make my excuses and leave.
Just because a thread is entitled 'Really serious and relevant discussion about economic issues which affect house prices', there's no guarantee that the discussion within is either serious, relevant or on topic for the board.
If the discussion fails to stay on topic for the board, no matter how lofty its original ambitions, then what's the problem with it being moved elsewhere?0 -

Divadee are you a labour supporter by any chance......Its just typical of labour to decide what I should do without asking me
THIS POST IS OFFENSIVE. A persons political leanings are not for this thread and are none of your darned business.
The mob tendencies, demands (get a life) and bullying by some should not be allowed to mar an extremely dedicated and professional BGs credibilty in doing what is an extremely difficult unpaid job (that I am sure most of the critics wouldn't or couldnt do).0 -

Respect cannot be demanded; it must be earned....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
