I rang Nationwides HQ office in Edinburgh, they had never heard of it and I must have been confused by last  years Xmas`s offer.

So I wait with bated breath!!!!!!!
Nationwide's HQ isn't in Edinburgh, so I'm not surprised whoever you phoned there hadn't heard of it.  Are you sure you aren't the one who is confused?

By the way, details of this account and a PDF application form (which you have to take into a branch after December 6) are here.

And thanks to RS for flagging this up. Although I go to NW site every day, I didn't spot this :)

I am pleased that you now have application forms.

RS is correct (of course) that the information was press released but that press release was embargoed until 0000 this morning - so hence I could post about it at 0052 or whatever as it was then live on their website.

And he's also right that their branches would be under strict orders not to leak news of the offer to their customers until the embargo had expired.
  • Got mine this am. The lady in the branch said the bonds are more limited than usual, but I'm not sure what she's basing that info on ???
