I've been with Tiscali about 12 months, i was previously with NTL which was a complete nightmare. I've had no problems with Tiscali so far with their broadband supply for £14.99 per month and there are up to 3 of us using the net through a router at any one time and the teens are downloading music and videos all the time etc. I was thinking about going with Tiscali for the phone but after reading about the problems that can occur with Tiscali taking over the landline, i don't think i will bother. I'll stay with BT for a bit i think!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

not saying its as good as a freephone.. but their 0871 is 5p pm ( or at least if calling on their phone) as opposed to the more usual 10p pm for 0871Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
I've taken a line with Tiscali with Bb and TV
( when it works its great - esp at their prices)
getting problems with line quality - but in fairness the c/s is better than I've experienced with other Bb providers , just not yet been able to solve problem - but certainly putting in the effortAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Tiscali are the 'whipiing boys' because they are a shower of siht."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
!!!!!! is all that about?0 -
your £125 to connect with BT would also incur a 12 month contract, so you could not move your line rental over to tiscali without a further 12 month line rental penalty from BT
if you really really wanted to take rental from tiscali from day one, you could get a line from the postoffice.co.uk, which has no ongoing contract.
if your relationship with tiscali breaks down, however, you would find yourself back to square one, having to pay another connection fee to BT to 'come back'
I would not recommend moving line rental to any third party at the moment, the benefits are small and you lose all of your leverage to re-negotiate at the end of your contract period0 -
Tiscali charge £99 connection charge for a new line......... so its six of one half a dozen of the other really.
Except it would take a lot to get my back to tiscali....... they messed up my DD and then turned my connection off................ then after 2 weeks admited they didnt know how long it would take to turn my connection back on becuase it was our sourced and not in there control........ HA0 -
I have been with Tiscali for a couple of years for line rental, phone calls and broadband and have never had a problem.
Was with Aol before and they were horrendous0 -
Tiscali have the most shocking customer service of any company I have ever dealt with.
As others have said, you can spend ages on the phone trying to tell them the problem for them to not understand a word of it, ask to speak to a supervisor and they are always busy or in meetings, the one time I did get to speak to a supervisor he rudely said he was too busy to deal with me and handed the phone back to the guy that answered it in the first place!
They couldnt set up a direct debit despite trying 5 times with 3 different bank accounts which lead to us being cut off several times, phoning up to be told they havent been paid for like 3 months.
The internet connection was SLOW and kept disconnecting.
Please dont go to Tiscali, you will regret it.
I'm now with Post Office, £24.95 for free calls evening and weekends (weekends include mobiles for free) broadband and line rental. So far very happy with the service.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!
