Tiscali phone line instead of BT saving £95...

Hi Friends
I'm moving to a new-built flat where there is no BT connection at the moment. I'm with BT right now and it seems if i want to move my BT line to my new home, they would charge me £124.99 connection fee. Since Virgin Media is not available in my postcode, the only alternative for me is tiscali. Also i found they are doing competitive deals which beats BT, like £14.99/month including both broadband & phoneline.(9.99 for first 3 months) on a 12 month contract same as BT. And the connection setup fee for tiscali is just £30.
However, before placing the connection request i would like to have some views from existing tiscali (Phone+broadband) customers about their service. Also i think if i switch to BT after 12 months, i don't have to pay 124.99 since i have a landline connection already setup which saves another £95. Is there any other catch if i do that? What do you guys think about this option? Reading some reviews from tiscali customers, their sercice is awful! is that true?
Cheers!

i have tiscali for broadband only £14.99 a month
i wouldn't recommend it to be honest
it goes offline so regularly i can now go through their repair process alone!!
phoning them has cost me a mint
mainly because i can't understand them and vice versa=hours on the phone
sorry i couldn't be more positivesmoke free since 01/02/09 :Tthanks to all those who've helped0 -
BT's current connection offer costs £0.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

I called up BT and checked this already. but they are not offering me this since this is not in BT website|New connection and this link is from services website. Also they told me this offer is only for people who got this notification by email and not for everyone. Please note there is norefernce number as well for this offer!

I thought Tiscali required you to have an existing BT or Non Cable Line before they provided service.0 -
I think you will find the £30 Tiscali are quoting is just to get you connected to their network not to get a line connected to your property. As Bill states above you will still require a BT line connected.
I would persue the Heinz line above, the offer does appear to be open to anyone who agrees to an 18 month contract.0 -

i spoke to tiscali cust service and already got my engineer appointment for the new connection for £30 only. Also confirmed they won't charge me anything extra. I assume they are using Bulldog resources for these as bulldog is now owned by Tiscali.0
